Tata Main Hospital Saves Life of Critical Accident
Patient
A major vehicle accident had occured at
Patamda on February 1, 2012. The patients
were soon admitted at MGM hospital. District
Administration had sought help from Tata
Steel and Tata Main Hospital for the
treatment of nineteen patients who were
seriously injured. Staff at Tata Main Hospital
took up firm steps and treated these patients
diligently.
Tata Steel & JUSCO Roll out Nukkad Naatak
Campaign to Check Dengue and
Chikungunya.
It was observed that vector borne diseases such as Dengue and
Chikungunya pose a major threat to the denizens of Jamshedpur and
surrounding areas.
In the year 2010-11, Jamshedpur faced an epidemic of Dengue.
There were 132 confirmed cases of Dengue in Company’s command area
and another 50 cases in Bagan Area. Last year, Jamshedpur also witnessed
an outbreak of Chikungunya.
Tata Steel Nurtures Rural Football Talent in
Jharkhand
The department of Urban Services, a wing
of Tata Steel, started nurturing the talent that is M
Rahul Raj two years back, and this coupled with
his father’s rigorous training, secured him a
position among the 11 cadets selected for Tata
Football Academy (TFA) this year.
Tata Main Hospital Celebrates
International Nurses Day
Tata Main Hospital (TMH) celebrated
International Nurses Day on May 12, 2012
for recognizing the selfless service
provided by nurses to the society. A
function in relation to the same was
organized by the nurses of the hospital.
They reaffirmed their commitment to care
for the ill with devotion and also pledged to
upgrade their skills and knowledge so that
they may serve the patients better. The
ceremony included a cultural programme
performed by the nurses to uphold the
spirit of the day dedicated to the noble
profession of nursing.

Women Empowerment Programme
Tata Steel held Annual Convocation
ceremony of its women empowerment
programme at Baridih community centre on
May 9, 2012. Department of Urban
Services, the social wing of Tata
Steel, aims at uplifting and providing equal
status to the women of the bustees through
various ‘Women Empowerment”
activities like sewing and stitching, hand
embroidery, machine embroidery, Mehendi
Rachna, Zari work, beautician, fabric
painting, etc.

A free Dental Check-up camp was
organized by Urban Services, Tata Steel in
partnership with Avadh Dental College and
Hospital, Jamshedpur at Sonari
Community Centre on May 5, 2012.

Tata Steel Education Excellence Award
function was hosted at XLRI Auditorium in
the gracious presence of chief guest, Dr Y
S Rajan, Dr Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished
Professor, ISRO Headquarters and Chief
Mentor, ISRO Strategy Group, and guest of
honour Mr HM Nerurkar, Managing
Director, Tata Steel. Dr Rajan takes a keen
interest in education and is the author of
several books on science, technology and

Tata Power organizes Free Allopathic
Medical Camp for villagers at Haldia
Tata Power, India’s largest Integrated Private Power Company
has been associated with various community programs in
Haldia. In continuation with these efforts, Tata Power
Community Relations team of Haldia organized a free
Allopathic Medical camp on 31st October 2011.

Vegetable Growers
In one of its try to promote the rural
vegetable growers of Jharkhand, Tata
Steel Rural Development Society
(TSRDS), offered significant opportunities
to them for farming, processing and trading
activities. The vegetable supply to the Tata
Steel canteen by the Patamda based
Vegetable Growers and Suppliers was
flagged off from the TSRDS Office.

for Ethnic Group in Jharkhand
Tata Steel’s Tribal Cultural Society (TCS) today launched
Project AAKANSHA at its premises to facilitate education for
the children of ethnic communities of our society.
