The new Companies Bill, passed by one of the two houses of Parliament,
prescribes the following CSR rules for companies:
• Who: Every company with a net worth of Rs. 500 crore or more during
any financial year
• How Much: At least 2% of its average net profit in the last three years
• Where: The Bill lists nine broad areas, which encompasses much that
results in social good. Companies have to disclose how much they
spend and where
• How: A CSR committee comprising three directors from the board,
with at least one independent director, shall formulate a policy,
recommend a budget and monitor it

1. Typically, to open primary school anywhere in
India, the capital investment required will range
from Rs 15 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs.
2. Form a Trust that would run your private primary
school.
3. The minimum requirement of land is 8000 sq. ft to
10000 sq. ft. The land can be leased (with rental
agreement for at least 30 years) or purchased
property.
4. Children belonging to the Economically Weaker
Section (EWS) of the society shall be offered
admission, in accordance with the provisions of
RTE Act 2009.

1. AGRICULTURE: PNB created PNB Farmers' Welfare Trust to aid
the farmer community
2. HEALTH: It organized 124 free eye, medical and general check up events. It
organized 40 blood donation camps. Further during 2010-11, 32 human
health check-up camps, 97 animal health camps were held and 53 visits of
farmers to agricultural universities/ colleges/fairs/government farms etc.

3. SPORTS: PNB introduced the "PNB Hockey Academy" to promote and
encourage young players
4. ENVIRONMENT: They contributed to the environment by planting trees,
financing renewable projects, and creating awareness among its employees
regarding the reduction in carbon footprints
5. COMMUNITY SERVICES: The bank started library-cum-reading rooms in states
such as Punjab, Haryana, etc; a scheme for meritorious children of members
of PNB Farmers' Welfare Fund Scheme has been launched in 2010; Financial
Literacy and Credit Counseling Centres (FLCCCs) Customer friendly
education loan scheme; Tie up with a number of educational institutes across
the country for facilitating creation of an “ Empowered India”; Improve the
educational opportunities available to disadvantaged students from
kindergarten to 12th grade

specific procedures.

international and governmental agreements, executive regulations,
declarations, covenants, decisions, and guidelines, when setting its
policies and practices pertinent to Social Responsibility.

  • 15. 1. AGRICULTURE: PNB created PNB Farmers' Welfare Trust to aid the farmer community 2. HEALTH: It organized 124 free eye, medical and general check up events. It organized 40 blood donation camps. Further during 2010-11, 32 human health check-up camps, 97 animal health camps were held and 53 visits of farmers to agricultural universities/ colleges/fairs/government farms etc. were arranged 3. SPORTS: PNB introduced the "PNB Hockey Academy" to promote and encourage young players 4. ENVIRONMENT: They contributed to the environment by planting trees, financing renewable projects, and creating awareness among its employees regarding the reduction in carbon footprints 5.
