The document discusses and compares cross-sectional and longitudinal studies. A cross-sectional study collects data from a population at a single point in time to examine relationships between variables. It allows comparison of different samples at one time but cannot determine cause-and-effect. A longitudinal study collects data from the same sample repeatedly over an extended period, allowing observation of changes over time. This enables longitudinal studies to better establish cause-and-effect relationships where a cross-sectional provides only a snapshot.

Formulating Hypothesis
Hypothesis Formulation is –
-the process of creating possible, tentative explanations for a given set of information.
-the whole Process of creating and formulating the hypothesis
How is Hypothesis Formulated
Reichenbach (1938) made a distinction between the two processes found commonly in any hypothesis formulation -
-Context of Discovery:
--Hypotheses is ‘discovered’ from earlier research findings, existing theories and personal observations, and experience.
-Context of justification:
--When a Researcher reconstructs his thoughts and communicates them in the form of a hypothesis to others, he uses the context of justification –
Steps in Formulation of Hypothesis
-Understand the area of problem
-Consider goal
-Identify variables
-identify the relationship between the variables.
-Think critically about hypothesis
-Express the idea as own hypothesis
Process of Hypothesis Formulation
-Understand the area of problem
Understand the problem that is being worked on.
-Consider goal
After selecting the problem & understanding the problem, objectives have to be selected according to the problem
-Identify variables
Must be define the variables.
Variables in hypothesis are testable not ?
Specify dependent and independent & others variables.
-Identify the relationship between the variables.
Variables are influence each other or not?
-Think critically about hypothesis
Hypothesis are testable, verifiable or not ? Which will make able to confirm the hypothesis.
-Express the idea as own hypothesis
Here researcher made the hypothesis in a Tentative Solution Statement manner
This was a presentation that was carried out in our research method class by our group. It will be useful for PHD and master students quantitative and qualitative method. It consist sample definition, purpose of sampling, stages in the selection of a sample, types of sampling in quantitative researches, types of sampling in qualitative researches, and ethical Considerations in Data Collection.

Longitudinal examples of research design studies are beneficial for investigating the effects of time on various factors, such as human development, social change, disease progression, educational outcomes, and more. These studies frequently use repeated measurements, in which manuscript data is collected at many intervals, allowing researchers to study changes in individuals or groups over time.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Cross sectional vs Longitudinal Study

2. CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY
Cross-sectional study is defined as an observational
study where data is collected as a whole to study a
population at a single point in time to examine the
relationship between variables of interest.
The most important feature of a cross-sectional study is
that it can compare different samples at one given point
in time.
For example, a researcher wants to understand the
relationship between joggers and level of cholesterol,
he/she might want to choose two age groups of daily
joggers, one group is below 30 but more than 20 and
the other, above 30 but below 40 and compare these to
cholesterol levels amongst non-joggers in the same age
categories.
3. The researcher at this point in time can create subsets for
gender, but cannot consider past cholesterol levels as this
would be outside the given parameters for cross-sectional
studies.
Cross-sectional studies allow the study of many variables at
a given time. Researchers can look at age, gender, income
etc in relation to jogging and cholesterol at a very little or no
additional cost involved.
However, there is one downside to cross-sectional study,
this type of study is not able to provide a definitive relation
between cause and effect relation (a cause and effect
relationship is one where one action (cause) makes another
event happen (effect)
This is majorly because cross-sectional study offers a
snapshot of a single moment in time, this study doesn’t
consider what happens before or after.
4. LONGITUDINAL STUDY
Longitudinal study, like the cross-sectional study, is also
an observational study, in which data is gathered from
the same sample repeatedly over an extended period of
time. Longitudinal study can last from a few years to
even decades depending on what kind of information
needs to be obtained.
The benefit of conducting longitudinal study is that
researchers can make notes of the changes, make
observations and detect any changes in the
characteristics of their participants. One of the important
aspects here is that longitudinal study extends beyond a
single frame in time. As a result, they can establish a
proper sequence of the events occurred.
5. Continuing with the example, in longitudinal study a
researcher wishes to look at the changes in
cholesterol level in women above the age of 30 but
below 40 years who have jogged regularly over the
last 10 years. In longitudinal study setup, it would
be possible to account for cholesterol levels at the
start of the jogging regime, therefore longitudinal
studies are more likely to suggest a cause-and-
effect relationship.
Cross-sectional studies can be done more quickly
as compared to longitudinal studies. That’s why a
researcher may start off with cross-sectional study
and if needed follow it up with longitudinal studies.
