If your spa is for 110Vott AC. Operation. you will receive the Electrical Equipment Control Box with a Three
Wire Ten Foot Power Cord and Male Plug attached Connect the electrical power cord Into a grounded
electrical receptacle nocloserthan six(6) feet to the SpaThe powercord should be installed In such a man-
ner as to be out of the way to the normal foot traffic to and from the Spa and situated such that it cannot be
stepped on or tripped over.
Your Spa. when connected to a 110 volt power source requires a 20 Ampere isolated, dedicated electrical
circuit. A dedicated circuit Is one where no other electrical appliances are connected on the same
circuit.
If a 20 Ampere dedicated circuit is not available, or there is a question as to the circuit serving other electri
cal appliances, it is the responsibility and obligation of the owner/user to have one installed by a qualified
electrician. Operating your spa on a circuit which has other electrical appliances connected to it will void
the warranty on the electrical equipment.
110 Volt Operation requires a Three-wire Electrical Service at the Main Circuit Breaker -
(Line 1 = Hot, Black; Neutral, White; and Green, Ground).
CAUTION
Under No Circumstances shall an extension
cord be used to extend the power cord from the
Spa's Electrical Equipment Pack. Use of an
extension cord will Invalidate the warranty and
will damage the electrical components. In
addition, use of an extension cord could
present a personal electrical hazaard to the spa
user.
Electrical Safety Features are designed in the system including a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).
which automatically turns off electrical power to the spa equipment should an electrical fault occur in the
system. More user information on the use of this protection switch is covered under Operation Of
Equipment.
220 VOLT CONNECTIONS
Units to be operated at 220Volts do not come with an Electrical Power Cord attached as for units operated
at 11 O Volts. bu rather with color coded Four·wire "Pigtails" for power connections. Electrical connections
for spas at this voltage must be accomplished by a Qualified Electrician. All Input wiring, conduits and 220
volt connections must be in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC) or other ElectrK;BI Local
Codes in effect at the time of installation.. ...,
YourSpa, when connected to a 220 Voll PowerSource, requires a 50 Ampere Isolated, Dedicated Electrical
Circuit. Adedicated circuit is one where no other electrical appliances are connected to the same circuit. If
a 50 Ampere Dedicated 220 Volt Service Circuit is not available, or there is a question if the circuit serves
othere!ectrical appliances, it is the responsibility and obligation of the owner/user to have one installed by
a qualified electrician. Futhermore, the maximum allowable distrance from the spa to the 220 volt circuit
breaker shall be no more than 165 feet.
8
CAUTION
For220 Volt Operation ofyourspa, the minimum
wire size of connecting powerwires shall be no
smaller the #6 AWG and furthermore shall be
run only in approved electrical conduit from
the spa to the Main Circuit Breaker. The con·
dult shall be securely grounded.
220 Volt Operation requires a Four-'Mre Electrical Service at the Main Circuit Breaker - (Line 1. Black;
Line 2, Red; Neutral, White; and Green, Ground). Refer to the Wiring Diagram in this manual.

2. TEMPERATURE CONTROL THERMOSTAT
With the Electrical Equipment Control Unit in any Heat Mode, this Thermostat will control the Electric
Water Heater. Turning this control tullycounter·clockwise will turn the Heater off. As the Thermostat is
turned clockwise, the Heater will be regulated accordingly from warm to hot. The Heater will not heat
the spa water above 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Spa water temperature can be monitored with an
accurate mercury-type or digital thermometer hung in the water. Inexpensive, "everyday general use"
mercury thermometers do not give an accurate water temperature reading. Some models have the
Thermostat Control on the Top Panel and some models have the Thermostat Control on the Support
Equipment
3. GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER (GFCI)
This Control prevents electrical current leakage into the spa water or other conducting devices on this
spa. You may also turn off all of the equipment electrical power by pressing the "OFF" Button on the
GFCI. If the GFCI is turned off either manually or automatically, the "ON" or "RESEr' Button must be
pressed to restore power to the Electrical System In the Control Box.
NOTE:
In a 220 l'olt Wired Spa, the GFCI will shut down the
Electrical System If there is an electrical fault In the
Pump Motor, Air Blower and asaoclated control.
Refer to the section on testing this control under
Important safety lnstructk>ns contained elsewhere
in this manual.
4. HIGH TEMPERATURE RESET SWITCH
ln the event of the Water Heater malfunction or its controlling circuitry, (water temperature rising too
high), this switch opens and automalically removes electrical power to the Heater. In order to restore
power to the Electric Heater, it is necessaryto press and release the Reset Button on the Limit Switch. If
this switch repeatedty trips, (opens) call your spa dealer.
10
5. SPA LIGHT CONTROL (Optional)
If you have the Optional Spa Light installed in your spa, this control, which is mounted on the top lip of
the spa, controls the Light. One push on this air activated switch turns the light on and one push will turn
the light off, as desired.
6. TIME CLOCK
With the Time Clock Switch in the Off Position and the Toggle Switch for Freeze Protection/Time Clock
in the Time Clock Position the Low Speed Pump is activated in Mode One (too panel control) by the
Thermostat Control.
With the Time Clock Switch In the On Position and the Toggle Switch for Freeze Protection/Time Clock
in the Time Clock Position the Low Speed Pump is controlled by the Time Clock and will run only when
the Time Clock turns it on or off. The Spa will heat then if there is a demand by the Thermostat onlywhen
the Pump is running by Time Clock Control. The Time Clock is on when the Tripper Lug opposite the
arrow on the clockface is pulled up (towards you). NOTE: As soon asthe clock encounters a Tripper Lug
in the Down Position, the clock goes off until another Tripper Lug in the Up Position is found.
7. FREEZE PROTECTION
With the Toggle Switch for Freeze Protection/Tlme Clock in the Freeze Protection Mode, the Low
Speed Pump will come on anytime there is a demand for heat to keep the spa and plumbing from
freezing. This switch will override the Time Clock.

Refer to the Wiring Diagram in this manual. DESCRIPTION AND USE OF OPERATING CONTROLS. 1. Sequence for Air Activated Controls for Therapy Functions. AIR SWITCH PUSH BUTION JETS - Push to switch from Low to High, Push again to switch from High to Low. It activates the specific TherapyJets; Low for Heat and Filtration (see time clock and freeze protection) High for Vigorous Jet Therapy. BLOWER - Push to switch from Off to On. Push again to switch from On to Off. It activates the Vigorous Bubbles In the spa for General Therapy. NOTE: Spa should be left with the Jets In Low Mode and Blower In Off Mode when not using. 110 Volt spas will only heat In this mode. Chemicals should be added only when the Spa has Jets in High Mode and Blower in On Mode for 15·30 Minutes. SEQUENCE COMBINATION FOR AIR SWITCH PUSH BUTTONS FOR 110 VOLT OPERATION JETS LOW-BLOWER OFF - Water Pump operates at a Low Speed and the 1500 Watt Heater turns on if a demand from the thermostate is made for heat. JETS HIGH-BLOWER OFF - Water Pump operates at a High Speed. JETS LOW-BLOWER ON - Only the Air Bubbles operate. JETS HIGH-BLOWER ON - Water Pump operates at a High Speed, Air Bubbles operate. 9
  • 12. SEQUENCE COMBINATION FOR AIR SWITCH PUSH BUTTONS FOR 220 VOLT OPERATION JETS LOW-BLOWER OFF - Water Pump operates at a Low Speed and the 6000 Watt Heater turns on if a demand from the Thermostat is made for heat. JETS HIGH-BLOWER OFF - Water pump operates at a High Speed and the 6000 Watt Heater turns on if a demand from the Thermostat is made for heat JETS LOW-BLOWER ON - Air Bubbles operate,Water Pump will come on if a call for heat is made by theThermostat and 6000 Watts of heat is available. JETS HIGH-BLOWER ON - Air Bubbles operate. Water Pump operates at a High Speed and the 6000 Watt Heater turns on if a demand from the Thermostat is made for heat. 2. TEMPERATURE CONTROL THERMOSTAT With the Electrical Equipment Control Unit in any Heat Mode, this Thermostat will control the Electric Water Heater. Turning this control tullycounter·clockwise will turn the Heater off. As the Thermostat is turned clockwise, the Heater will be regulated accordingly from warm to hot. The Heater will not heat the spa water above 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Spa water temperature can be monitored with an accurate mercury-type or digital thermometer hung in the water. Inexpensive, "everyday general use" mercury thermometers do not give an accurate water temperature reading. Some models have the Thermostat Control on the Top Panel and some models have the Thermostat Control on the Support Equipment 3. GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER (GFCI) This Control prevents electrical current leakage into the spa water or other conducting devices on this spa. You may also turn off all of the equipment electrical power by pressing the "OFF" Button on the GFCI. If the GFCI is turned off either manually or automatically, the "ON" or "RESEr' Button must be pressed to restore power to the Electrical System In the Control Box. NOTE: In a 220 l'olt Wired Spa, the GFCI will shut down the Electrical System If there is an electrical fault In the Pump Motor, Air Blower and asaoclated control. Refer to the section on testing this control under Important safety lnstructk>ns contained elsewhere in this manual. 4. HIGH TEMPERATURE RESET SWITCH ln the event of the Water Heater malfunction or its controlling circuitry, (water temperature rising too high), this switch opens and automalically removes electrical power to the Heater. In order to restore power to the Electric Heater, it is necessaryto press and release the Reset Button on the Limit Switch. If this switch repeatedty trips, (opens) call your spa dealer. 10
  • 13. 5. SPA LIGHT CONTROL (Optional) If you have the Optional Spa Light installed in your spa, this control, which is mounted on the top lip of the spa, controls the Light. One push on this air activated switch turns the light on and one push will turn the light off, as desired. 6. TIME CLOCK With the Time Clock Switch in the Off Position and the Toggle Switch for Freeze Protection/Time Clock in the Time Clock Position the Low Speed Pump is activated in Mode One (too panel control) by the Thermostat Control. With the Time Clock Switch In the On Position and the Toggle Switch for Freeze Protection/Time Clock in the Time Clock Position the Low Speed Pump is controlled by the Time Clock and will run only when the Time Clock turns it on or off. The Spa will heat then if there is a demand by the Thermostat onlywhen the Pump is running by Time Clock Control. The Time Clock is on when the Tripper Lug opposite the arrow on the clockface is pulled up (towards you). NOTE: As soon asthe clock encounters a Tripper Lug in the Down Position, the clock goes off until another Tripper Lug in the Up Position is found. 7. FREEZE PROTECTION With the Toggle Switch for Freeze Protection/Tlme Clock in the Freeze Protection Mode, the Low Speed Pump will come on anytime there is a demand for heat to keep the spa and plumbing from freezing. This switch will override the Time Clock. INITIAL START UP AND OPERATING PROCEDURES CAUTION BEFORE PERFORMING THE OPERATIONS IN THIS SECTION, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL OF THE PREVIOUS INSTRUCTIONS SET FORTH IN THIS MANUAL MAKE SURE THE SPA HAS BEEN INSTALLED CORRECTLY, INCLUDING ELECTRICAL WIRING CONNECTIONS AS SPECIFIED IN PREVIOUS SECTIONS. CAUTION DO NOT OPERATE THE SPA WHEN THERE IS NO WATER IN THE TUB. After you have read and completed all installation instructions in accordance with the procedures set forth in this manual, spa start-up procedures may be started. Turn off the Main Circuit Breaker to ensure no electrical power is applied to the spa. Fill spa with water to a level of approximately 3 inches above the bottom of the Skimmer Openings. Turn Thermostat Knob fully counter clockwise to the off position (no heat demand). Turn on electrical power by setting this Main Circuit Breaker to on. (Whether 110 or 220 'Volt con- nected Systems). Activate this Remote Control Unit by pushing the Function Switch Buttons, and run through the complete operational cycles by successively activating the controls. Each activation of the Remote Control auto- matically changes the Mode of the system in predetermined successive order as described in description and use of operating controls. 11
