Just as ART is subjective and hard to
define so is CREATIVE WRITING.
3. Creative writing is any writing that is
original, artistic, and self-expressive.
4. Its purpose is to entertain and share human
expriences, and it does so by expressing
feeling or thoughts that are borne out of the
imagination as you can see in poetry, fiction,
plays, and personal essays.
5. Because it uses a lot of the imagination,
creative writing is also called imagination
writing or literature, as opposed to technical or
academic writing, the main goal of which is to
present facts
6. Is any writing that is contrast to analytic or
pragmatic forms of literature like professional,
jounalistic, academic, medical, scientific,
business, or technical writing.
7. • Fiction (maybe a short story, novel, and
novella) - mostly made-up stuff borne of the
imagination
8. • Poetry (also songs, riddles and proverbs) -
takes liberties with language and imagery
9. • Plays (including screenplays, teleplays, stage
play, and radio plays) - require significant level
of creative and imaginative thinking
10. 1. Clarity - The writing does not confuse your
audience.
2. Form - It has beginning, a middle and an ending.
3. Emotion - The text is emotionally charged and the
reader cares what happens to the protagonist.
11. 4. Meaning and Connection - Recognize that it is
all about people or situation that the reader can
connect to.

words and their power.
