2. I came up with this title as I wanted it to reflect something related to a
ring or a wedding and thatโs when SAVE THE DATE clicked my mind
and I kept it. The font was โColona MTโ as I wanted a simpler font title
but while selecting the colors, I kept it pink, so it can be matched with
my main cover imageโs dress and also, I set variation in the title to make
it look attractive and readable. From my research, I found that
some wedding fashion magazines used Adobe Arabic and Adobe
Garamond font for their Mastheads, e.g. the magazine shown below.
Masthead
3. Genre of my magazine was Wedding Fashion and here I am
choosing
the same themed magazine for comparison.
While setting cover images, I only used one picture as my main
cover image as they are the main thing that pulls the attention of
the audience and placed it in the middle of the page which almost
every other magazine has done but the cover lines I included were
three, placed in the right and left corners of my cover page with a
main cover line typed on my main cover image. The fonts used for
them were Gabriola and The Hills which made them look emerging
and easily readable. I havenโt seen many magazines using puffs but
here I added it under my title to grab my audienceโs attention in the
first stare/look.
However, many other magazines I encountered with either had so
many cover lines or no cover lines at all but two things that were
common in my and this magazine was the barcode and the main
cover line.

4. While doing my magazineโs shoot, I followed certain camera
angles and shots. I clicked some lower angle and eye level
pictures. I also captured some long shots, extreme long shots,
medium close-ups, medium shots and two people shots. These
shots made my pictures more readable and legible.
However, the magazines I researched mostly used medium and
long shots for their main cover images.
The camera I used while doing my shoot was Canon EOS 800D
with 18-55 STM lens and some of the BTS (behind the scenes)
were taken by my own phone.

5. Bridal magazines always seems elite and the models displayed there
have seductive and captivating looks but here I chose โPAINDUโ
theme for my magazine that people negate from their lives or donโt
want to see and also they have stopped valuing their own culture.
People are mostly inspired and fascinated by Western themes due to
which they are bringing in western culture by introducing the โcake
cuttingโ ceremony, replacing red/dark colored bridal dresses with
pastel colors and dancing on Hollywood songs than Bollywood ones.
In this magazine, I highlighted our Asian culture. I did this by doing a
shoot in my friendโs lawn which exhibited nature. I also chose high-
key lightening as looks and facial expressions are mostly audible and
intelligible at that time of the day but most of the other bridal
magazines I saw had low-key lightening with no or a little bit nature.
I also decorated the spiral stairs with โGAINDASโ as they are a part of
tradition and adds into the beauty of a Desi wedding.
Mise-en-scene
6. I kept the color code a little brighter like desi people used to wear on
previous weddings along with bright makeup and bulky jewellery.
โBindisโ are now out of trend but I made my models wear it as it promotes
our cultural weddings. The dresses were extremely bright and heavily
embellished, however, nowadays these kind of dresses are not preferred
as bridals wear lighter pastel color dresses.
Most of the magazine models seemed with engaging and
seductive looks with a stiff body posture but here, my models
had natural and fascinating facial expressions with a normal
body posture.
