First of all I had to create my story for the article carried on from the front page
secondary story. This was all about Ben’s band: ‘Weather the Storm’. I wanted to
interview Ben, about the band, and their gigs, and what’s happening next for them, so I
came up with some questions. I then asked him them, and wrote my article like an
interview. This was the end result:
I then started to create an advert for my second page, I
researched a few different mobile phone adverts, and then started
creating mine. I created my advert on Photoshop and I began by
writing the text, and creating the logo, by finding a font that
matches theirs. I also had to find a picture of a dongle and then
cut around it, so that I could put it on my advert with no
background, so it would fit on mine. I then created the
background by having it gradually going from lighter blue to
black from bottom to top. I then made the text white, so that you
could read it over the background colour. However I then created
a star like explosion shape, which I made white to stand out, I
made the text inside blue to go with the theme of O2 as it is blue
and white.

I like this advert, as I think it looks very professional, and could
be an advert for O2, so I think it is successful as a brand.

I then began to create the about me and distributions
section, I began by researching other papers about me
sections, and decided to try and make it like them. I put
the email, the text address, the editorial phone number,
the advertising phone number, which like other
newspapers was the same. I put the distribution and
Classified phone numbers as well. I do not think I have
done very much with this, therefore I plan to improve and
develop this.

Once putting all of these parts on my second page, this was the result:
At the moment it has a lot of gaps, however I can see it has potential to be a good second
page. At the moment, I think the advert stands out the most, however I still have a lot to
put on this page.
