- I thought you might like to contrast the basic, 2-appserver scenario with this very large configuration supporting the New York Presbyterian Hospitals affiliated with Columbia and Cornell universities. They operate dual hot-hot sites split between their New York City campus on 38st and their SunGard-hosted facility in New Jersey. DataCore takes care of synchronously mirroring the disks across the river to keep these sites in lock step. They chose to separate the locations after one of their facilities was flooded. Now they regularly perform hardware maintenance, system upgrades and expansion without downtime.

They operate metro clusters between their Hospital and MIS facility, using SANsymphony-V to synchronously mirror data across sites.
