When they're close to the coin, and 'You're cold, you're freezing, you're arctic!' when they're moving further away from it! 3 minutes: Tonight let your child see the stars - a free magic show. When was the last time you spent a whole three minutes looking at the stars? It's a chance for you to take a moment to regain perspective and realize how incredible life really is. Also, within this time, you are bound to see a satellite crossing, a shooting star and spot the seven sisters constellation! That's if it's a not long summer evening and you're not absolutely zonked already!

Positive reinforcement for what they're doing right, rather than shouting at what they're doing wrong has been shown to be a powerful tool for encouraging good behavior. Your attention is their biggest reward and every word of encouragement is secretly treasured by your child. 2 minutes: At bedtime, read them this short meditation. These two minutes could be really special time for you to just 'be there' with your child:

You watch a fox slipping through the woods and glance back at you for a moment. A deer pauses as you pass, remaining still and peaceful. Rabbits hop in the distance. A beautiful cat is sitting on the nearby fence, watching the dog beneath it as it lies in the hot sun with its belly up. You canter through the fields, pushing through the glorious winds. Even though you are moving quickly, everything seems still and peaceful. Light is shining from you, from the horse and from all your surroundings. The world is a beautiful place. As the horse gently slows from a canter to a trot and then a walk again, you take a long deep and slow breath and now it's time for dreaming. Goodnight! 15 seconds: Have a graffiti board! Take a big sheet of paper and stick it to the wall and let them doodle!

Ask them lots of questions about it -What does it do? Would it come in different colors? What shop would they buy it in? How much would they charge you for it? 15 seconds: Say 'I love you' - if that sounds too hard for you, try saying how kind they are, how good they've been today or take a moment to give them a hug. This may seem obvious to some, but not so obvious to others!
