Comenius Project 2012-2014
Plan to Preserve this Pretty Planet
Craft booklet:
a ColleCtion of Crafts
from around europe
All participating countries, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Romania and UK took part in
this collection of crafts found in this craft book. The best two crafts were selected by each
educational institution.
The purpose of compiling a Craft Booklet was to show that children from various countries
can share their ideas of how they can produce something made out of used and recycled
material. Children benefitted from learning to produce various artefacts but they also
became more aware of how best they can protect their environment. Children were asked to
either work in groups or individually on anything they liked. They were advised to make use
of stuff that is usually thrown away. Instead of throwing things away and as a consequence
pollute the environment, children managed to producing a special craft. The final products
varied from just decorative ones to others being more useful and practical for our everyday
life.
The Craft booklet is divided into sections. In each section one can see from which country
and school the craft originated. In each section you can also find the aim of producing the
particular object and all the materials needed to get to the final product. The whole craft
booklet is very visual and gives step-by-step guidelines as to how one can produce the craft.
We do hope that you enjoy doing all the crafts shown on this handbook.
