- Netiquette is a portmanteau (a word whose form and
meaning are derived from a blending of two or more
distinct forms). Net +Etiquette
- The "proper" manner of communication in the online
environment. Whenever you communicate in the
virtual world, consider the following "rules," adapted
from Virginia Shea's Core Rules of Netiquette.

unnecessarily long response, or encounter misspelled words;
when this happens, practice kindness and forgiveness.
It's like arguing with a drunk at any given discusiion: You will
never win. As much as possible, let's try to resolve conflicts.
Do not share your classmate's private information in any open
communication in an online classroom.
Always ensure that what you write and share is understandable
and grammatically correct.
As a virtual world communicator, it is your responsibility to make
sure that the time spent reading your words isn't wasted.

  • 10. NETIQUETTE - Netiquette is a portmanteau (a word whose form and meaning are derived from a blending of two or more distinct forms). Net +Etiquette - The "proper" manner of communication in the online environment. Whenever you communicate in the virtual world, consider the following "rules," adapted from Virginia Shea's Core Rules of Netiquette.
