Cory wakes up wanting to go to the grocery store. He gets ready and asks his parents, who give him $10 to go. At the store, Cory puts gum and a candy bar in his pocket without paying. A clerk catches him trying to leave and calls his parents. His parents and the police come, upset that Cory tried to steal. They use his $10 to buy the items and keep the change, teaching Cory an important lesson about being an honest citizen.

2. Cory wakes up one Saturday morning and decides he wants to visit the grocery store. He said, “I will go
ahead and make my bed, brush my teeth, take my shower, and get dressed.”

3. Cory made sure his bed was made and his room organized and clean.

4. He went into his parents room and asked, “Can I go to the grocery store? “ His parents told him that
he could go to the grocery store. His parents asked him if he had any money and Cory told his
parents he had $10.00.

5. Cory met James on the way to the grocery store. Cory told James I have $10.00 and I
want to buy me a pack of gum and a snickers bar.

6. Cory is walking down the aisle of the grocery store and spots what he
came for. He picked up a pack of gum and a snickers bar and put it
into his pocket. James asked, Are you going to pay for that? Cory said,
“no.” James looked puzzled.

7. On the way out the door, a sales clerk walks up to him and ask him, “Can you take that
gum and candy out of your pocket please?” Cory looks surprised. The clerk call his parents
and tells them what he got caught doing.

8. His parents and the police meet Cory and the clerk at the store. His parents are very upset! The police tells him
that he could go to jail for stealing because he broke the law. As a citizen, you are not allowed to take from
someone else property. His parents asked for the $10.00 that he said he had.

9. His parents asked for the $10.00 he had. His parents takes the money and purchases the gum and candy and
keeps the change.
