February 22, 1986 Minister Juan Ponce Enrile the Marcos' defense and the
Armed Forces of the Philippines Vice-Chief of Staff, Gen. Fidel Ramos state
that there is the defection on the election result. That is the time to start the
four-day People Power Revolution.
“People Power Revolution” is also tagged as the “EDSA
Revolution,” “Yellow Revolution,” “Bloodless Revolution” and
“1986 Philippine Revolution.”
The assassination of her lovely husband former Senator
"Benigno S. Aquino Jr." on August 21, 1983 in the " Manila
International Airport" the recent name is "Ninoy Aquino
International Airport".

The People Power Revolution also known as the Epifanio De Los Santos
Avenue (EDSA) revolution and the Philippine revolution in 1986.
President Marcos and Imelda Marcos had ruled the Philippines
for 20 years.
Began in 1983 and culminated in 1986 Revolution was a result the long
oppressed freedom and the life threatening abuses executed by the Marcos
government.
Over a million of Filipinos took the streets to overthrow the
corrupt and brutal regime of the president Ferdinand
Marcos.

Cardinal Jaime Sin.
Epifanio de Los Santos Avenue (EDSA) where the peaceful
demonstration was held on that fateful day.
The EDSA people power revolution anniversary occurs every 25th of
February in the Philippines.
People Power Revolution was the first nonviolent, bloodless
revolution that ever took place.

Marcos had been deposed in February of the same year, and
the Philippines was reckoning with everything his

faced by Cory Aquino as soon as she became the
President. For instance the poverty and
unemployment. The speech mentioned two
elections occurred after the death of Ninoy
Aquino. His wife participated during the election
and lose in the first election. During the second
which is snap election, she became the president
and declares democracy in the country.

Cory Aquino would deliver as President of the
Philippines, it was this speech that gave credence to
the People Power Revolution not only to the
Americans but to the world-that change was possible
through peaceful means. When she finished her
speech, Senate Majority Leader Robert Dole said to
Mrs. Aquino, "Cory, you hit a home run." Aquino
smiled back and said, "I hope the bases were loaded."
Five hours later, the House of Representatives voted,
203 to 197, in favor of $200 million as emergency aid
for the Philippines.
