This document summarizes a research paper that designed and implemented a Quality of Security Service (QoSS)-compliant Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) processor for use in multimedia applications. The processor uses a reconfigurable architecture that can provide up to 12 different AES cipher schemes with reasonable hardware costs. Southern States automatic high speed ground switches, also sometimes called fault-initiating switches, provide an economical alternative for circuit protection in applications that would otherwise require costly circuit breakers. One of the most common applications of the high speed ground switch is to provide protection of power transformers in circuits having enough impedance to limit the low side fault currents to values below the trip settings of source breakers. The system relays signal the high speed ground switch to close, imposing a deliberate single phase fault to ground on the high side of the power transformer which in turn causes the source breaker to open, clearing the fault. Another popular application for the high speed ground switch is in backup protection for a power transformer as part of a circuit breaker failure scheme or a circuit switcher failure scheme. If a fault occurs and the power transformer's main protective device (either a circuit breaker or a circuit switcher) fails to successfully operate to clear the fault within a defined period of time the high speed ground switch is signaled by system relays to close, imposing a deliberate single phase fault to ground on the high side of the transformer and causing a remote circuit breaker to trip, clearing the fault. High speed ground switches can be furnished as stand-alone devices or can be attached to a hookstick operated switch or to a single phase of a group operated switch. 2. Descrizione della genesi del percorso didattico
Lavorando su una classe terza si è scelto di privilegiare un
percorso che permettesse un approccio principalmente
informativo rispetto al tema della risorsa idrica, in modo che
i ragazzi acquisissero competenze approfondite sulla
tematica più generale.
Il team delle insegnanti di classe, insieme con l’esperto che
ha poi seguito le lezioni, ha quindi deciso in prima battuta di
utilizzare il materiale avuto durante la formazione in
Regione (sia i PDF che soprattutto i video) per quanto
relativo alla prima fase di (in)formazione

6. Il progetto ha previsto una prima parte di presentazione
generale dell’argomento, a cura dell’esperto.
In questa fase si sono presi in esame alcuni termini “chiave”
– come “risorsa”, “esauribile”, “sostenibile” ecc., tenendo
conto anche delle preconoscenze degli alunni che si sono
andate ad approfondire on line con la LIM
7. Una volta capito l’ambito della discussione, l’esperto ha
presentato ai bambini alcuni video e documenti relativi al tema
della “Risorsa Acqua” e della “Crisi Idrica” e dell’”Impronta Idrica”

11. Queste informazioni sono state poi rielaborate dall’insegnante di classe, che ha
stimolato discussioni e ricerche di ulteriori informazioni circa l’uso domestico
delle famiglie degli studenti.
In uno dei primi incontri agli studenti è stato sottoposto un test “di ingresso” per
conoscerne le abitudini rispetto all’ambiente e al loro impatto sul consumo
dell’acqua: su 17 ragazzi ben 5 si sono rivelati “catastrofi climatiche”, 9 sono
“homo sapiens poco attento” e solo 3 sono “Amici del Clima”!

17. Risultati ottenuti
Il progetto ha avuto una buona ricaduta sul gruppo dei bambini.
Naturalmente alcune tematiche sono state trattate in maniera
solo superficiale ma in generale le insegnanti hanno riscontrato
alcuni dati importanti:
-maggiore sensibilizzazione sul tema dell’uso consapevole
dell’acqua
- maggiore attenzione sull’uso dell’acqua a scuola (soprattutto
attento controllo del funzionamento rubinetti e degli sciacquoni
dei bagni)
- buona ricaduta delle informazioni ricevute in classe anche in
ambito familiare
18. Le insegnanti si sono impegnate a fare in modo che le poche
ore destinate al progetto venissero implementate anche da
attività parallele in classe, per cui sono stati approfonditi
maggiormente i temi del ciclo dell’acqua, delle tipologie di acque
(verdi, blu, grigie).
Inoltre, anche dal punto di vista lessicale, si è riscontrata una
buona acquisizione delle terminologie anche più complesse,
come “impronta idrica”, “crisi idrica” ecc.
Infine, essendo molti dei video proposti tra i documenti da
visionare realizzati in lingua inglese, è stato possibile anche un
interessante approfondimento linguistico parallelo
