In large corporations there is a great need for team work and structure,
this way all departments can run smoothly. When there is discord or
issues within the company it can make for a hard working environment
for all. This is why corporate team building is so important. Large
corporations have begun to understand the need for team building and
are employing groups to come up with corporate team building ideas.
The most important part about team building with a large corporation
is the planning. One person needs to be in charge the planning, and
have everything figured out before the day arrives. This will cut back on
any issues that may arise during the day. The other important factor
when it comes to working with corporations is the needs and objectives
of the group. All teambuilding programs should be designed to meet
the needs and objectives of the group. An assessment should be done
in advance so that the facilitator knows what to expect in regard to the
needs and qualities of the group. As a facilitator, choosing the activities
that you feel will best meet the group’s goals is an important first step
in developing a teambuilding program.
Some corporate team building ideas are:
Partner swap: Partner Swap is a great activity to do at the beginning of
a teambuilding program. This fun and straightforward activity
introduces the concepts of teamwork, trust, communication, and
thinking creatively. You can do this activity with small groups as well as
very large groups. The goal of this activity is to simply switch places
with a partner in as many different and creative ways as possible in 30
seconds to one minute.
Incorporations: This activity promotes interaction and laughter for
large groups and consists of participants incorporating themselves into

groups according to some category stated by the facilitator. Once all of
the participants have formed smaller groups according to the stated
category, the group celebrates their uniqueness and the diversity of the
larger group.
Maps of the world: Maps of the World is a great activity to help people
get to know one another as they hear about each other’s dreams or
experiences in specific places around the United States or even the
world. This activity involves creating a ’“map” on the floor or ground
using a long rope or tape. Having the facilitator create an outline of the
United States on the floor/ground large enough for the whole group to
stand inside is easiest. Of course, people may also stand outside in
other countries as well—though they may be imaginary because the
outline has not been created.
These games and activities are great for corporations because they
require large groups. A large group is great to have when you are
working on building teams and working with others, corporations have
the greatest number of people. Cooperate team building ideas need to
be well thought out, and well executed, this is the only way to have a
team building event that a large group of people will benefit from.
