The Cooperative Business Schools (CBS) program provides a participatory learning approach to develop the capacity of cooperative leaders and members to effectively manage collective businesses. The program aims to make cooperatives more profitable through 19 meetings covering topics like basic business concepts, value addition, market analysis, and business planning. It follows six principles including teaching through facilitation, learning by doing, and being grounded in real-world cooperative management. The CBS package includes training materials, a basic curriculum, and guidance for setting up the program through a cascade model of training core facilitators who then train other providers to expand the program.
