The documents discuss the balance between AI and human workers. By 2021, AI assistants are forecast to handle 85% of customer service queries at just 10% of the cost of live agents. However, humans still provide skills like empathy, ethics and complex decision making that AI cannot replace. When used as augmentation rather than replacement, AI can help humans perform tasks faster and improve outcomes. An experiment found that including AI bots in a coordination game improved overall human performance, particularly during difficult tasks. For the future, organizations must view digital transformation as both a technology and people journey to create new jobs and reskill employees as roles evolve with new technologies.
Social media will have a significant impact on the future of work by 2020. It will lead to more transparent and flexible work environments where creativity and goal-oriented work will be emphasized. Competition for jobs will be intense as social media allows easy setup of online businesses. Machines are predicted to replace many middle-class jobs. Strategic partnerships and new ecosystems between companies using social media will form. Overall, social media will continue integrating into workplaces and transform how people work together.

THE SOCIAL IMPACTS OF AI AND HOW TO MITIGATE ITS HARMSTekRevol LLC
In the wake of mass automation, UBIs might be the answer low-income families and citizens might be looking towards. As automation across industries increases, the induced fear within citizens of its impact is severe. From privacy concerns through rogue AI to doomsday scenarios to more realistic concerns of misused AI and loss of jobs, pop-culture led paranoia has shaken up the world. These concerns have to be dealt with, and tech companies and businesses need to have a robust moral framework under which decisions are made, to ensure any negative externalities of implementing AI are mitigated to the maximum degree. Artificial Intelligence is a great tool to optimize businesses and make our world more efficient, but the moral imperative on all of us is to ensure it happens sides by side human sustainability, not at its expense.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is doing a very good job and continues to provide many benefits to our modern world, but with good, inevitably negative consequences. The sooner we start to think about what they are, the better prepared we can be to reduce and manage the risks.
This whitepaper provides an overview of artificial intelligence (AI) and its commercialization. It discusses the history and development of AI from early pattern recognition (AI 1.0) to today's deep learning (AI 2.0) to the emerging contextual reasoning (AI 3.0). Key points include how transfer learning and increased computing power are driving new AI applications and how AI is being applied commercially in healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, and other industries. The document also addresses the global demand for AI talent and the challenges of developing reliable AI systems that can operate under changing conditions.

Artificial Intelligence: Potential Benefits and
Ethical Considerations
KEY FINDINGS
The ability of AI systems to transform vast amounts of complex, ambiguous
information into insight has the potential to reveal long-held secrets and help solve
some of the world’s most enduring problems.
However, like all powerful technologies, great care must be taken in its development
and deployment. To reap the societal benefits of AI systems, we will first need to trust
them and make sure that they follow the same ethical principles, moral values,
professional codes, and social norms that we humans would follow in the same
scenario. Research and educational efforts, as well as carefully designed regulations,
must be put in place to achieve this goal.
International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is actively engaged, both internally
as well as with its collaborators and competitors, in global discussions about how to
make AI ethical and as beneficial as possible for people as society.
1. WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE?
The term “artificial intelligence” (AI) has been mentioned for the first time in 1956 by John
McCarthy during a conference where several scientists decided to meet to see if machines could
be made intelligent. Since then, AI is usually defined as the capability of a computer
program to perform tasks or reasoning processes that we usually associate to intelligence
in a human being. Often it has to do with the ability to make a good decision even when there
is uncertainty or vagueness, or too much information to handle.
As an example, playing chess well, or some complex card games, is believed to need some
form of intelligence in a human being, as well as choosing the best diagnosis in a difficult
medical case, or creating something new, such as a mathematical theorem or even some form
of art, or even driving a car in the middle of a crowded city.
It is clear that this is a strange definition, because it depends on what we consider being
intelligent in the behaviour of a human being at a certain point in time. If our belief about
human intelligence changes, and we don't believe any longer that a certain task requires
intelligence, then a computer program performing that task is no longer part of AI, it becomes
just another boring computer program.
The term “artificial intelligence” brings to mind to the notion of replacing human intelligence
with something synthetic. At IBM, we prefer the term “augmented intelligence”. This means
that we aim to build systems that enhance and scale human expertise and skills rather than
replacing them. We therefore focus on practical applications of discrete AI capabilities that
assist people in performing well-defined tasks, by exploiting a wide range of AI-based services.

Artificial intelligence and its role in near future convertedIphsTechnologies
Artificial intelligence has the potential to greatly increase productivity and reshape innovation through new methods of invention. Recent advances in deep learning allow AI to serve as a general purpose method of invention by leveraging large datasets and enhanced prediction algorithms. However, AI is still in early stages and its full impacts are uncertain. While AI may substitute some routine labor, it also opens opportunities to stimulate new forms of research. Policies encouraging data sharing can help maximize AI's benefits.
This document presents a maturity model for artificial intelligence adoption in enterprises. It outlines four stages of maturity: exploring, experimenting, formalizing, and integrating. It also discusses four macro trends affecting AI success: the shift from screen-based to sensory interactions; from rules-based to probabilistic decision making; from data analytics to data engineering; and from expertise-driven to data-driven leadership. Key aspects of maturity include having a data strategy, using AI in product development, establishing ethics principles, and integrating AI throughout the organization.
What we’re about to explore are the possibilities of deep learning which are already enabling machines to peek into the future. Driven by data the predictions come with greater confidence than ever before, and the scope of growth is quite akin to magic! Let’s take a brief look at the technology, how it actually works, and some of it’s novel uses to improve our society!

Mary C. Daly discusses the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI on the labor market. While some view AI as either replacing all jobs (dystopian) or improving outcomes for all (utopian), history shows that technology impacts different people and jobs in both positive and challenging ways. The recent proliferation of generative AI models means that effects on the labor market will be simultaneous rather than sequential. Whether AI leads to better outcomes depends not just on the technology but also on how institutions, regulations, and mindsets change in response.

The Rise of Robots and Ai
Introduction
The relentless march of technology has brought us to an era where robots and artificial intelligence (AI) are becoming increasingly integrated into our daily lives. As we witness the remarkable advancements in automation, machine learning, and robotics, a pertinent question looms: should we be afraid of the rise of robots and AI? This inquiry delves into a complex landscape where the promises of efficiency, innovation, and convenience collide with concerns about job displacement, ethical dilemmas, and potential risks to humanity. In this exploration, we will navigate through the realms of progress and caution, examining both the dazzling possibilities and the shadows cast by the ever-growing influence of robots and AI.
1: The Positive Side - Benefits of Robots and AI
Robots and artificial intelligence (AI) bring lots of good things to the table. One big plus is that they help us get things done faster and better. They can do repetitive jobs really quickly, making work smoother in places like factories and delivery services. Robots and AI are also like big brains that help us come up with new ideas and discoveries in science and technology. They're super good at doing tasks without making mistakes, making the quality of work even better. These technologies can work non-stop, 24/7, ensuring things keep running smoothly. Using robots and AI can also save money by making tasks more efficient, especially in jobs that might be risky or dull for people. They're great at handling a lot of information (big data), helping in areas like business decisions and healthcare. Whether it's making things safer in dangerous places, creating personalized experiences, or aiding in medical diagnoses, robots and AI bring a bunch of cool advantages to our lives.
2: The Negative Side - Detriment of Robots and AI
Even though robots and smart technology can be really helpful, there are also some not-so-good things about them. One big problem is that they might take away jobs from people. For example, if robots start doing a lot of the work, some people might lose their jobs, and that can be tough for them. Another issue is about being fair and good. Sometimes, the computer programs that control these machines can accidentally be unfair, especially when recognizing faces. Lastly, there's a worry about depending too much on these machines. If we rely too much on them, we might lose control over important things, like decisions about money or health. So, while these machines can do good things, we also need to be careful about the problems they might cause.
3: Striking a Balance - Navigating the Future
As we look ahead to a future with more robots and smart technology, we need to find a good balance. On one side, these machines can help us a lot, but there are also challenges. People might worry about losing their jobs to machines, so it's important to make sure our education helps us learn new things throughout o

The seminar topics include networking, believing in self-improvement, fake accounts on Instagram, how leaders inspire action, and the puzzle of motivation. The additional article is about harnessing motivation for all-day productivity.
This document evaluates 12 websites based on their purpose, target audience, navigation, layout, imagery quality, style/fonts, and content. The websites discussed include AB InBev, BNP Paribas, Nationale Bank van België, Proximus, HLN, 2dehands, Zalando, and Fnac. In general, the evaluator found that purpose and target audiences were clear, but some sites could improve navigation, layout, and content organization. Imagery quality varied depending on who provided the images. Overall assessments ranged from "good" to needing simplification and improved structure.
The document compares Wix and Wordpress for building websites. Wix has a simpler learning curve and interface but offers less flexibility and customization. Wordpress requires more technical skills but allows for more unique and professional site designs. While Wix is easier for beginners, Wordpress provides more freedom and is better suited for complex sites. The author chose Wordpress for the assignment despite the steeper learning curve, believing it will allow for more liberty and prove more useful in the future.
The biggest risk associated with the Internet of Things is hackers. Devices currently have poor security that has been exploited in attacks like Mirai and Senrio Devil's Ivy. These attacks took advantage of weak default logins and vulnerabilities that allowed hackers to easily take over devices. While technology may enhance human capabilities, computers do not actually have emotions and encoding emotions into algorithms would be extremely complex. Smart devices should provide information to users but not make moral decisions, as algorithms lack qualities like sympathy needed to make such choices.
The document discusses how artificial intelligence will affect different professions, the importance of developing AI ethically, and different types of machine learning. It notes that telemarketers and security guards may be most affected, and that the EU has provided ethics guidelines for AI development. Different learning methods are outlined including supervised learning using training data, unsupervised learning through observation, and reinforcement learning using rewards/penalties. The game of Go and AlphaGo are discussed as an example of AI progressing from human-level to superhuman abilities in a few short weeks. Finally, it distinguishes between weak AI in current digital assistants and strong, superhuman AI.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

3. Description of the task
Before starting this document, we had to have an online meeting with the group members. The
goal of the task is to critically evaluate artificial Intelligence by answering to three important
question that are related to businesses. In the following document you will find the answers why
we picked these questions and our conclusion about artificial intelligence.
How and which professions will be affected the most?
Artificial intelligence is definitely
something of our current society
and will have a huge impact on our
daily lives. Whether this is positive
our not can be a bit of a vague
question for everybody. However,
some jobs will be affected in a huge
way. We picked this question
because for students like us, it will
be important for us to know on
which jobs we should focus or not. In
the following paragraph we will
discuss which professions will be
affected the most and in what way
they will be affected.
In this graph you can see which jobs will be affected by artificial Intelligence. Food construction
for example has the risk of about 60% to be replaced by artificial intelligence. Just like
construction that has the chance of nearly 60% to being replaced as does cleaning services and
driving services. However, this is not just it. This graph shows only the tip of the iceberg. You may
think that this graph already shows a lot of jobs that will affect a lot of people. But there are a
couple of jobs that will be affected in a way more drastic way than 60% if we take the example
of food preparation.
Jobs like Telemarketers, Book-keeping clerks, Benefits Managers,Receptionists, Couriers, Market
Research analysis and Security Guards are just a few examples that will be heavily impacted by
the further evolution of artificial intelligence. (John, 2019)
Telemarketers for example was something that happened in huge call centers. The workers
would cold call people all around the world, but this is far from efficient as a lot of people would
just end the call as soon as they would hear the purpose of the call. You could just imagine the
situation when for example your phone carrier calls you to change your phone plan or to explain
you some new deals that could be interesting for you. You hang up your phone and you don’t
4. hesitate one second. In a lot of companies today, this call center is replaced by bots. When they
call you, you are supposed to press a certain number in order to get more information. Even
though this voice might seemhuman, it actuallyis not. A country that has/had alot of call centers
and was known for companies to be the perfect place to outsource this service due to low wages
is for example Indie. You can only imagine now that a lot of people in this country will be affected
by this evolution in artificial intelligence as to a lot of researches, 99% of this kind of job will be
replaced by artificial intelligence. (maricafilannino, 2016)
Security guards was something that we didn’t expect to be replaced by artificial intelligence, but
it seemed funny. However, when we looked for it on the internet. There is 84% risk that this job
would be replaced by artificial Intelligence. As of today, there already exist security robots, but
artificial intelligence still has a long way to go to fully replace these jobs. (first security services,
2018) (WILL ROBOTS TAKE MY JOB?, sd)
To conclude this question, we can say that artificial intelligence will definitely have an impact on
our economic landscape. Jobs that can be automated, will be automated. Jobs that are repetitive
and have an identical routine each day will be impacted the most and in the near future. Jobs like
nurses or doctors will most likely not be replaced by artificial intelligence.
Is Artificial Intelligence ethically responsible?
Artificial intelligence andethics are termsthat, whenusedtogether, canflare upa fairbit of discussion.
Thistopic hasgaineda lotof tractionrecently, because itisbecomingclearhow broadthe applications
of artificial intelligence cangetinthe (near) future. The questionwhetherAIisethicallyresponsible
mustthus certainlybe asked, especiallybecauseAIis mainstreamingveryrapidlyandis startingto
replace jobsthatwere previously performedbyhumans.
As humans,we automatically applyethical considerationstoeverysituation. Machinesdonothave
these capabilities. The ethicsof everytechnology liesthusinit’screationbyhumans. This isalsothe
case forartificial intelligence (Nalini,2019).For AI,it isevenmore importantto implementthe right
ethicsfromthe beginning, aswe donot have sighton the path frominputsto outputs.
We all have heardof doom scenario’s where AItakesoverthe world. Butthose are, fornow, really
nothingmore thanfantasy. Here are some real-life examplesof whatcan happenwhenAIgetsitwrong
or is unethicallyused.
Facial recognition hasfailedmultiple times, one example iswhenAmazon’s face recognition falsely
matched28 membersof congress withpeople whohadbeenarrestedforacrime (Snow,2018).
WhenAI ispoorlytrained, itcan developstrongunethical bias. Amazonhadtodrop it’sAIrecruitingtool
in2018, because it favored menoverwomenfortechnical jobs (Reuters,2018)
Europe realizesthe importance of AIbeing ethical. Therefore, the EuropeanCommission isinviting
Europeansto discussethical AI onan official boardcalled EuropeanAIAlliance (Bergdahl,2019). Besides
that, the EU has composed EthicsguidelinesfortrustworthyAI.
5. Accordingto the EU, trustworthyAIshouldbe:
1. Lawful:respectingall applicablelawsandregulations.
2. Ethical:respectingethical principlesandvalues.
3. Robust:bothfrom a technical perspective whiletakingintoaccountitssocial environment
(RoboticsandArtificial Intelligence(UnitA.1),2019).
The guidelines themselvesare writtendownina41-page document. Accordingtothe EU, the
development, deploymentanduse of AIshouldbe ina way thatadheresto the ethical principlesof:
respectforhumanautonomy,preventionof harm, fairnessandexplicability (AIHLEG,2019).
So,we knowthe pointof viewof the European Commission, butdothe marketleadersinAIactuallydo
some efforttomake artificial intelligence ethical?Wellyes, accordingtotheirstatements.
In 2018, Sundar Pichai, the CEOof Google publishedablogpostabout whatGoogle’s principles are
regardingAI.Google distinguishes 7objectivesfortheirAIapplications.
1. Be sociallybeneficial.
2. Avoidcreatingorreinforcingunfairbias.
3. Be builtandtested forsafety.
4. Be accountable topeople.
5. Incorporate privacydesignprinciples.
6. Upholdhighstandardsof scientificexcellence.
7. Be made available forusesthataccordwiththese principles (Pichai,2018).
Furthermore,Google statesthatitwill notdesign ordeployAI inapplicationareasthat:

Contraveneswidelyacceptedprinciples of internationallaw andhumanrights.
Microsofthas itsown setof AI principlesand statesthatAIsolutionsshould reflectethical principlesthat
