This document provides information and instructions for a lesson on converting units of measurement. The lesson objectives are for students to be able to convert between different units of measurement and use units of measurement to solve word problems. The lesson will take 4 hours and involve reviewing measurement units, learning conversion factors, practicing conversions in groups and individually, and solving word problems involving measurements. Students will be assessed informally through monitoring their work and formally by checking individual work.

PE 7 | Lesson 2: PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST AND ASSESSMENTAngela Mae Alba
The birth of the DepED Physical Fitness Test Manual came about after the review and revision workshop of the existing physical fitness tests introduced by Dr. Aparicio H. Mequi, former Chair, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and Director, Bureau of Physical Education and School Sports (BPESS). The workshop was inspired by the desire of the Task Force on School Sports (TFSS) to bring in the new trends and latest
researches in the field of physical fitness while we respond to the issues on test qualities and administration.
Test administration shall be treated as an essential component of the Physical Education and School Sports program. Both elementary ( Grades 4,5 and 6) and secondary pupils/students must to undergo the test during the beginning and ending of
the school year. Using a score card, each pupil/student shall be responsible to record and keep the result of his/her own
performance or the school may include these score cards in the school’s MIS.
The physical fitness test is a set of measures designed to determine one’s level of physical fitness. It has two components namely: Health-Related and Skill-Related Fitness. Each component comprises several tests and specific testing protocols. There are one thousand and one tests used worldwide but the choice of tests considered time efficiency in the administration, availability of equipment, simplicity of the procedures, and practicality of the tests.
From: 21st Century Lessons: A Boston Teachers Union Initiative and Corey Cheever. Use this Common Core State Standards aligned lesson to engage middle school math students with learning about identifying the slope of a line, and graphing a line with a given slope. The "Do Now" will remind students about the order of operations when dealing with negative numbers and fraction bars. Then, the students will see a demonstration of positive, negative, zero, and undefined slope. During the exploration, students will find slope by definition (rise/run), and the practice will turn towards the slope formula. Finally, the homework assignment investigates slope with regards to geometry. Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images

Measurement Worksheets
Learner Prior Knowledge
• Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing Integers, Decimals, and Fractions
• Using measurement systems
• Problem Solving Skills
Instructional Activities
Step 1
Review different units of measure and when to use each one. Ask students which unit of measure you
would use to find…:
• Length of a pencil?
• Distance from home plate to 2nd
base?
• Distance between two cities?
• Time it takes to write your name?
• Time it takes to write a paragraph?
• Time it takes to take GED test?
• Time it takes to complete a college class?
• You do not have to ask these exact questions as long as you are making sure that students
know what unit of measure is appropriate for different situations.
Step 2
Review how to round decimals to different places. Also discuss the difference between exact and
2. approximate values. For example, a fraction is an exact value and a rounded decimal is an
approximate value.
Step 3
Teach students basic conversion factors.
• Teach students how to convert between inches, feet, yards, and miles (Customary units).
• Teach students how to convert between millimeters, centimeters, decimeters, meters,
decameters, and kilometers (Metric units).
• Teach students how to convert between customary units and metric units.
• Teach students how to convert between seconds, minutes, hours, and days.
• Teach students how to convert between pounds, ounces, cups, pints, quarts, and gallons.
Step 4
In a group, or with a partner, students will practice converting between different units of measure.
Step 5
As a class, use units of measure to solve contextual problems. Label answers with the appropriate unit
of measure.
Step 6
Have students work individually on solving word problems that involve units of measure.
Assessment/Evidence (based on outcome)
Informal assessment by monitoring group/partner discussion and work. Formally check students’
individual work for process and accuracy. Assign additional practice if necessary.
Teacher Reflection/Lesson Evaluation
