• An opening sequence is usually the first two minutes of
a film or a programme. It usually includes:
• Production companies
• Director
• Producer
• Cast
• Title
• It should be engaging for the
audience to want watch more of
the film.
• Diegetic and non-diegetic sound is used to add an
effect to the visual images you see.
• Diegetic sound ‘is that which is part of the text’s
internal world and thus is made by or heard by the
characters as well as the auience. Examples are
dialouge, sound effects such as explosions that
appear to relate to the action on screen and music
that is played as background to a scene, on a radio
or stereo.
• Non-diegetic sound ‘is added for the audience only,
such as atmosphere music or a
voiceover.
