Contrived experiences are substitutes for real things that are used in the classroom when it is not practical or possible to use the real thing. There are several types of contrived experiences including models, mock ups, specimens, simulations, and games. Models are reproductions of real things made of synthetic materials and shown in small or large scale. Mock ups are special models that highlight specific parts or processes. Specimens are portions of material used for testing. Simulations represent manageable real events where learners actively participate, and games practice or refine acquired skills or knowledge and identify weaknesses. Contrived experiences provide hands-on learning substitutes when real things cannot be used directly in the classroom.

3. Contrived experiences
are edited copies of reality and are used as substitute for
real things when it is not practical or not possible to bring
or do the real thing in the classroom.
4. Models
is a reproduction of real thing in a small scale, or large
scale or exact size, but made up of synthetic materials
substitute to a real thing which may or may not
operational.
5. Mock up
Is a special model where the parts of a model are singled
out, heightened and magnified in order to focus on that
part or process under study
example
planetarium.
6. Specimen
A portion or quantity of material for use in testing .
Example:
examination Human Brain in Specimen Jar Mosquito
7. Simulation
representation of a manageable real event in which the
learner is an active participant engaged in learning
behavior or in applying previously acquired skills or
knowledge
8. Game
forms of physical exercise taught to children at school •
Plays • Examples is relay,
To practice or refine knowledge or skills already acquired
Identify gaps or weakness in knowledge or skills
serve as summation or review
Develop new relationships among concepts and
principles
9. Difference between game and simulation
Games are played to win: there is a competition
Simulation needs not winner, seems to be more easily
applied to the issues rather than to processes
