This has the reader wanting to read the

whole world”. The quote is located in the
top right on it’s own, making it stand out
amongst the contents page, further
assisted by the fact that it is in one of the
largest fonts on the contents page.
Zooey Deschanel is seen doing a
sultry and provocative pose that has
a heavy emphasis on her legs and
the pose she has struck. Given that
Zooey Deschanel is viewed as one of
the most attractive women in the
world, they have exploited to their
full ability of Deschanel’s appeal to
both men and women, as the males
that are part of Spin’s target
audience would find her attractive,
and the female’s desire to be like
her and have her qualities.
The costume seen worn by the two is matching, This shows that they are
together in the same band which is demonstrated by their clothing. Their
clothing is also akin to that of a classical performer such a Charlie Chaplin.
This is done to give the two their own image, to make them stand out from
the unrelenting mass of generic artists featured in magazines.

2. The title is in black, fitting with the
black and white colour scheme as
seen on the contents page. The
colour scheme is black and white
as it is focusing on Ringo Starr, a
member of The Beatles. Given that
The Beatles are a band from the
past, Mojo has given a black and
white colour scheme to suit the
nostalgic idea of The Beatle’s
prime.
The only colour other than black
and white is red. This is because
this is an iconic colour for Q that
identifies the magazine. The red
stands out amongst the black and
white, making it suitable for
important details, namely page
numbers so it is clear for readers
to identify where the best
features are located.
Starr is pictured standing in
front of a white curtain. This
is important as if the text
were positioned elsewhere
or the text was a different,
lighter colour it would be
harder to make out. With
this in mind, the colour of
the text changes
accordingly, as seen when
the text on Starr’s dark
