The mechanism of painting society camp, which requires a continuous sophistication on urban-sketching skills, is easy for everybody to follow. First, there is a stable source of income from the collective contribution of membership fees for hiring exhibition venues at City Hall or Central Library. Second, you do not need to care about the unpredictable game of contemporary-art award schemes that you must grasp the creative gimmick, as you just need to simply focus on the refinement of your landscape or urban descriptions. Third, the corresponding painting societies are pro-China which easily obtain fundings from the Mainland cultural authorities. Fourth, people no matter for whatsoever backgrounds can easily perceive the aesthetic pleasures from your artworks because they do not need to imagine or think at all. Firth, even though you do not have brilliant creative concepts all the time, you can still paint and produce artworks regularly. Sixth, urban sketchers can easily get the help from the press media for column-writing reports because the works easily connect with our daily basic-class livelihoods. Moreover, the selected "urban sketching" masters tend to develop a wholesome communication with the district residences and commuters. They prefer a conservation of old heritages, whereas they do not mind practicing the liaison philosophies of Confucian ethics.

- 2. 「urban sketcher」之由來及定義 The Urban Sketchers movement was started on Flickr in 2007 by a Spanish journalist Gabriel Campanario. In 2009 Campanario established Urban Sketchers as a nonprofit organization. The Urban Sketchers Manifesto has been translated into several languages …… Campanario started a group to support and promote journalistic drawing depicting real life as it happens in front of the artist. The USk motto is “We show the world, one drawing at a time!” A year later in 2008 Campanario created the Urban Sketchers blog. Participation in the Urban Sketchers blog is by invitation and is limited to a hundred artists. The term Urban Sketchers Correspondent was created. Correspondents are invited by Campanario and commit to contribute journalistic sketches on a regular basis. The sketches are accompanied by stories providing a background for the sketch: when and where the sketch was created and some details about content – words and narrative that go with pictures. The Urban Sketchers blog gained popularity between 2008 and the present, attracting hundreds and soon thousands of visitors daily. In December 2009, Campanario established Urban Sketchers as a nonprofit organization. A board of directors was elected. The organization’s task is to raise the artistic, storytelling and educational value of location drawing, promoting its practice and connecting people around the world who draw on location where they live and travel.

Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel. 3. Our drawings are a record of time and place. 4. We are truthful to the scenes we witness. 5. We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles. 6. We support each other and draw together. 7. We share our drawings online. 8. We show the world, one drawing at a time.
- 4. 「urban sketcher」之由來及定義 Urban Sketchers is a diverse group of people united by a passion for sketching. Discussions, for example about supplies and materials, take place when sketchers meet in real life or virtually. Sketching in public creates opportunities for interaction. The majority of these interactions are positive and good-natured. In some instances, sketching in a café has produced a free coffee from a proprietor, and on a rare occasion sketching produced an invitation to sketch a cultural event that otherwise would be closed to an outsider. For example, a group of aspiring musicians, Flon Flon en Musette, were performing a street concert that was documented by an Urban Sketcher who happened to be on site. The sketch then made it onto the face of the group’s compilation CD and the sketcher was invited to a private concert. In 2011, Campanario published a book, The Art of Urban Sketching, highlighting hundreds of the best Urban Sketchers members' work.

- 24. 慧惠：鍾情於油麻地果欄情懷 油麻地土生土長的香港插畫家和藝術家。 二○一二年畢業於香港城市大學創意媒體文學士，主修電影。 為了連結人與社區，她探訪了不同的小店，了解他們的工作日常和故事後，二○一六年舉行個人畫展。 二○一七年，她參與香港電台電視部《采風》拍攝，探索中國黑龍江民間藝術，同年亦推出首本個人畫 集《給油麻地的情書》。

- 27. 慧惠：《給油麻地的情書》自白 不知從何時開始，大家都急著去懷舊，用不同的方式去記錄正在消失的社區情懷，以情動人。偏 偏這本寫給油麻地的「情書」，沒有呼天搶地式的「情感大爆發」，也沒有「救救小店」的呼號， 只是默默地以一個觀察者的角度，專注地凝視這個土生土長的舊社區一點一滴的變化，不帶一點 煽情。 作者一邊觀察這片成長地，一邊專注地畫，靜靜地跟你訴說她眼中的果欄、廟街、京士柏 公園、各式各樣的小店與人…… 從她選取的角度、鋪排、著墨處，不難發現處處都是她對油麻地 的愛。這本「情書」不過分喧嘩，卻從一畫一字中，讓你感受油麻地的可愛之處。

Elaine Chiu: 港大藝術系的Urban sketcher 生於香港、長於香港，趙綺婷（Elaine）作為 本地九十後畫家，她的畫作圍繞香港城市景 色，從第一身視角，刻畫個人與城市的關係。 趙綺婷使用水彩作為主要繪畫媒介，透過其 透明靈動的特質，渲染出轉瞬即逝的光、影 去刻畫香港獨特的城景。對她而言，創作像 是在城市街頭上的歷險、亦像是對個人身分 認同的探索， 由畫作帶領大家以自身視角再 次觀察我們身處城市的脈搏與心跳。趙綺婷 希望以水彩創作和寫生，紀錄我城獨有的景 貌、社區和文化，表達她對香港街道的鍾情。 趙綺婷於二零一八年畢業於香港大學文學院 藝術史系，畢業後成為全職城市畫家。Elaine 曾參與及舉辦不同藝術項目，包括個人及群 體展覽、壁畫、街頭寫生工作坊以及水彩課 程等等。Elaine希望可以一步一步實現自己的 藝術夢想，以藝術連結香港人與人、人與城 市的關係，將對香港街道的熱愛分享給更多 人。
- 32. Elaine Chiu: 港大藝術系的Urban sketcher Elaine中學時已經在位於深水埗的瑪利諾神父教會學校就讀DSE視藝科，自年少已與 西九龍地帶的街坊情懷結下不解淵源。 Elaine在港大藝術系所做的畢業論文乃是研究齊白石的，雖則此學系只單純地教授中 西美術史，但她也善用課餘空間爭取月餅品牌、Sai Kung Art And About、港鐵等平台 展示其水彩寫生畫作，並率團在深水埗區感受寫生之樂。 Elaine亦是International Watercolour Society的常任會員，曾在嶺南大學及外地與本港 水彩畫壇的資深行家同步展出畫作。
- 33. Elaine Chiu: 港大藝術系的Urban sketcher 藝術家趙綺婷透過繪畫街道中的招牌，反映香港 - 我城的獨有面貌。招牌在香港城市景貌擔當重要角 色，除了指路、塑造地標等的實際功能，招牌的設 計、書法字體和工藝造法，側面反映了香港人的文 化、性格和民間生活與藝術。香港的街道離不開字， 街道上可以說是字、街、畫相融，充滿各類圖像化 的標記。對於趙綺婷來說，街道招牌文化她反思和 探索個人文化和身分的構成，思考書法、霓虹等等 對香港人視覺身分的深遠影響。
