由宮廷美學演變至西方大學與美院之藝術風格 (3-8-2017)

自封建帝制以來，宮廷繪畫乃皇帝聖上及後宮佳麗附庸風雅之貢品，在重文抑商的社會結構底下，宮廷畫家地位有如士大夫般得諸侯及百姓尊崇，但他們須在描繪題材上迎合君主「嗜瑞癖」之要求。 自清初康雍乾盛世起，滿州人統治者不甘於只嚐漢人畫家淡雅墨意之風，乃禮聘意大利耶穌會傳教士畫家郎世寧改革中國宮廷畫的典章制度，此為往後嶺南畫派於民國時代崛興鋪路，促使渴求邁向共和的漢人知識份子，更加嚮往西方油畫美學的構圖、色彩及表現力，透過營辦大學藝術系及美術學院教育，甚至留學法國，致力探索中國書畫及中國油畫如何達致中西合璧之抑衷融和意境。然而，除著封建帝制宮廷「畫學」之崩潰，西方啟蒙模式的專上美術教育植根中原，更重培養中國藝術家關心社稷及批判環球政治的博雅視野。
