1. Connecting Essay 2
This image is an image I produced
myself, I used make-up and
Photoshop to help me achieve the
overall effect. I like this image due to
the fact I like the contrast of colours,
I also like the fact it looks like
something is dripping from her
mouth as it makes the image look
more mysterious I think. I used
photo-shop to achieve this certain
shape of the lips, and also to add
some of the white bits in. I thought
this image was successful as it was
my first time trying something like
this, therefore I thought it went well,
however I have noticed the
positioning isn’t that great.
This is another image I found online;
I like this image a lot due to the
colours and the high quality, which
makes it look very professional. I
like how the teeth are very glossy
and shiny as this makes it look like
an image you would see in a
magazine showing the high quality.
I also like how you cant see where
the lips stop as it blends into the
background. I think the drip coming
off of the lip is really effective too,
also the contrast of pink against
black makes the image look more
bold and appealing.
These two images link together because they are both showing the same thing. I actually
got inspiration to do this shoot after seeing this photo I found on the Internet. They are
both showing lip-gloss on the lips but also have another colour behind it, I thought this
would be good for close-up as I could show the contrasting colours, therefore that’s why
I made my one with different colours. In both images you can see the teeth, which was
what I wanted, however they do look more effective in the one form the Internet.
Another difference is the one from the Internet obviously fades into the background
where as mine doesn’t. However I still think they link together well even though hey
aren’t exactly the same as they still have the same effect. They have also both been taken
at very different angles which may reflect the quality of the image.
