CONJUNCTION (KATA PENGHUBUNG)
Conjunction are linking words or elements of the

eight parts of speech in english .
There are some common words in the English
language coordinate conjuctions, subordinate
conjuction and correlative conjuction.
1.Coordinating cunjunction
is the conjunction linking simple
sentences. Sentence means that one
does not need any other sentence, and
supposing that sentence stands alone,
without the conjunction, then the
meaning of the sentence is already well
understood.
 Conjunction is divided again widened sections :
a) Cumulative (menunjukkan penambahan)
Conjunction yang sering dipakai pada
penggolongan ini adalah and, both...and, also, as well
as, no less than, not only ... but also, dsb.
Contoh :
1. You and I will go to Bali tomorrow.
kalimat I : I will go to Bali tomorrow
kalimat II : You will go to Bali tomorrow

nevertheless, however, whereas, while.
Contoh :

2. She is very wealthy still she isn`t contented.
3. He is very clever, nevertheless he often makes mistakes.
d) Illative (menunnjukkan Kesimpulan)

so, so then, then, for.
Contoh :
1. My sister was ill, therefore, she couldn`t go to
school yesterday.
2. It`s time to go, so, let`s start.
3 If you make mistake, then you must admit it.
2.Subordinating Conjunction
Namely the conjunction linking clause and the
main clause. It means that if we do not use the
conjunction, then one can not understand the
sentence meaning if it stands alone.
a) Apposition ( Keterangan tambahan)

2. Jean promised that he would tell me the truth.
b) Cause and Effect (Hubungan Sebab Akibat)

exhausted.

pass the exam.
2. You have to study hard in order that you can pass the
exam.
e) Condition (Syarat)

2. I will come to your house provided that I am well
enough.

3.Correlative conjunction
Correlative conjunctionn is a conjunction used in
pairs.
Conjunctive can be used to connect the two
patterns of simple sentence or two elements
similar words.
This conjunction is always used in pairs. Sentence
elements that are connected must have aligned
position (parallel) in accordance with the

and plural are connected, then the closest subject
