CCF is a common
pediatric emergency.
It is also termed as
congestive heart failure.
It indicates inadequate
cardiac output.
3. Definition
+ Inability of the heart to maintain
an output at rest or during stress,
necessary for the metabolic needs
of the body and inability to receive
blood into the ventricular.
13. Sedative should be given to
manage restlessness &
reduce anxiety
Iron supplements may be
needed for correction of
anemia
Potassium sparing mild
diuretic is also used in dose
of 1 to 4 mg/kg/day
14. Diet should be planned
with low salt for sodium
restrictions and to be given
in small amount frequently.
Diuretic ( frusemide) is
given orally or parenterally
(0.5 – 1.5 mg/kg).
