Staring Activity This session may feel like it’s all about you but it’s actually all about THEM (see Dear Lisa Rudgers)... What you can do for them, why they would want to hire you, what would impress them about you (for their sake)
This is not about camera and it is not one minute long, but it’s one girl’s campaign to get a job using social media and if you want to learn about confidence here it is...

What's it for/ who's it for ?promoting yourself, your work, a cause? Who are you looking at/who are you with How do you behave/feel - do you hate people looking at you Don't fidget, have shaky hands, say um and ah, lean on one leg Be yourself Be focused, map out in advance what you are there to do PRACTISE Imagine there is no camera and talk accordingly Imagine who you are talking to- who this might be will depend on what you are presenting The art of being conversational Be fascinated Are you better if doing something (I held coffee cup/glass wine) Emotional confessional you zoom in, on the news you talk to one side Know what you are going to be presenting for, bright opening, are you going to be edited Keep going for as long as the camera is rolling Avoid gimmicks unless you actually know they are going to work
