Advantages of Concrete
• IRC limit 12 inch masonry to 4 ft fill without
reinforcement and full grout
• 10 inch un-reinforced concrete allowed to 8 foot
fill, addition of rebar increases depth
• Concrete foundation monolithic less prone to
crack and settle
• 5 times stronger than masonry
• Cost comparable to grouted masonry
• Concrete watertight provides for dry basement
How we do it
• Owner provides excavated site or HLC
can perform
• Form footings above grade
– Integral perimeter drain
– Integral radon collection system
– Two rows #4 rebar
– Electrical ground wire

• Waterproofing is performed using either:
– Tremco Tuff N Dry system with 30 year dry
basement warranty
– Tremco Warm N Dry system with 15 year dry
basement waranty
How we do it (cont.)
• The whole process is completed in about a
week
• Backfilling of site can be performed after 7
-10 days
• Begin framing on a clean backfilled safe
worksite!

• Basements 9, 10, 12 feet deep
• Brickledge as required
• 10 inch true wall thickness standard any
wall thickness capable
• Retaining walls to 12 feet high
