1. Always incorporate a D.P.C. tray in locations where any part of a building
projects. e.g. Porch roofs, Bay Windows, changes in Roof Level, all Extensions
whether Pitched or Flat roofs
2. Always incorporate a D.P.C. tray over a Lintel
Always install a Vertical D.P.C. at open reveals
4. Always provide a D.P.C. to bottom, back and
ends of Brick Cills
5. Always fix window and door frames behind
outer leaf
6. Always install a full metal tray D.P.C. in a
Brick Built chimney
7. Always maintain the cavity.
Never use an insulation that bridges the cavity
8. Always keep cavity clean.
Never allow mortar droppings to bridge cavity.
9. Always install the D.P.C. a min. of 150 mm
above finished ground level.
10. Always fill cavity to a level between 150 and 225 mm
below D.P.C.
