Big services need to be componentized into microservices and composed together to execute as distributed applications across organizations and users on the internet. By using software-defined networking and sending the service to the data instead of sending data across the globe, these componentized microservices can be executed in a network-aware manner based on policies that map services to the network. This allows for subscription-based inter-domain communication when composing big services in a software-defined inter-cloud.
