This document outlines plans to improve secondary education in Laos. It will:
1) Update what is taught, how it is taught and assessed, who teaches, and tools/materials for learning.
2) Create a future where all Lao children have access to quality, relevant education to succeed globally.
3) Achieve this through revising teacher training curriculum, deploying new teachers, providing textbooks and guides, and in-service training for current teachers.
This is the textbook for Lao Language for M3, developed by the NRIES of the Ministtry of Education and Sports (MOES), Lao PDR, through the assistance of BESDP (Basic Education Sector Development Project) under ADB Grant 0069
This was prepared for the RIES of MOES, LAO PDR...for developing countries most of the textbooks production are handled by a unit within the Ministry of Education, usually manned by teachers with limited training on instructional design or even print production/editorial management techniques. Here are practical tips on how to go about it by someone who has helped develop 100 titles in record 6 months time with extreme limits in personnel capabilities, then designed the in-service training strategy/crash course to bring down "learner-centered" practices at the classroom level...Many of reform projects focus on policy but lack down to earth practical HOW-TOs and yet expect IMPACT at field level.
