Communications Technology Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of communications technology is not without its challenges. The
intricate nature of this topic demands a comprehensive understanding of the constantly evolving
landscape of technology and its impact on communication. Navigating through the plethora of
information, trends, and advancements requires a keen eye for detail and an ability to sift
through vast amounts of data to distill relevant insights.
One of the complexities lies in striking a balance between technical details and broader societal
implications. A successful essay should not only delve into the intricacies of various
communication technologies but also analyze their profound effects on human interaction,
culture, and global connectivity. The need for up-to-date information further complicates the
task, as the rapid pace of technological innovation can render certain aspects of the essay
obsolete if not handled with care.
Moreover, addressing the ethical considerations surrounding communications technology adds
another layer of complexity. The writer must be attuned to the potential societal implications,
privacy concerns, and the ethical use of emerging technologies, presenting a nuanced perspective
that acknowledges the dual role of technology as both an enabler and a potential disruptor.
Creating a well-structured and coherent essay involves not only gathering relevant information
but also organizing it in a logical flow. Transitions between different aspects of communications
technology, from the historical context to contemporary developments and future prospects,
must be seamless. Additionally, the essay should be engaging to capture the reader's interest
while maintaining a scholarly tone that reflects the depth of research.
In conclusion, writing an essay on communications technology demands a blend of technological
acumen, analytical prowess, and the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise
manner. It's a task that requires dedication, research skills, and a deep understanding of the
subject matter. For those seeking assistance in navigating the intricacies of such essays, various
resources, including professional writing services likeHelpWriting.net, offer a helping hand in
crafting well-researched and thought-provoking compositions on a variety of topics.

The Use Of Pcms And Sensible Heat On The Thermal...
1. Introduction
This proposal investigates the possibility of combined use of PCMs and sensible heat
to improve the thermal performance of hot water tanks (HWT) hence to shift the
peak power demand. And demonstrate a theoretical experiment results about
comparison between the proposed system designs and the HWT without combination
of PCMs.
2. Background
2.1. Thermal energy storage and phase change materials
Thermal energy storage (TES) system store excess thermal energy with different
applications and materials and release it for later use. [1] For instance, TES systems
is a available means to balanced energy demand between day time peak hours and
night time lower usage of energy. Specially, with the applications such like solar...

[6] Apart from this thermal property, there are other issues also need to be
considered when design the PCMs for the thermal energy storage systems. For
example, it is preferred to choose high density and small volume change materials,
which also called as physical properties [7] because large changes in volume would
result in a large and complexity system size. [10] Furthermore, the expenses of the
materials, as common sense, are not expected to be too high, which also considered
as the economic properties. In other words, the thermal storage system should be
sufficient economically efficient.
In the study done by Sharma et al. in 2006, a theoretical method to calculate the
effect of thermo physical properties of heat exchanger container materials on the
thermal performance of the storage system was given. [11] They gave the conclusion
that the PCM complete melting time would decrease due to the enhancement of in
thermal conductivity of container material. They also reported that the melted
fraction of the PCM would be dominated either by the thickness of heat exchanger
container material nor the initial PCM temperature, but the boundary wall temperature
during the melting process.
2.3. Thermal energy storage system
Thermal storage can be subdivided into several technologies: sensible heat
A Brief Note On Security Tactics Adoption And A Security...
IV.CRITICAL ANALYSIS
Ryoo, J. et al. was successful in investigating the degree of security tactics adoption
and clearly identified a security gap between the design and implementation of the
software.
The authors followed a manual process to study security vulnerabilities in open
source software. Processes like code review or searching for security keywords in the
documentation or source code does not prove if the software protects its users from
malicious intrusions or leaking private data.
The authors searched for keywords like security, authenticate, authorize, cipher,
encrypt etc. in the source code of the selected 53 Open Source Software to see if any
of these security tactics appear as file names or class names. This is not a ... Show

900 social insurance numbers were stolen from Canadian Revenue Agency by
exploiting the heartbleed bug.
To identify such critical bugs, there has to be an automated testing framework that
tests common programming errors, data leakage and other ways of malicious
intrusions into the application. This paper is very limited to identifying the rate of
usage of the security tactics in open source software. Well documented and
implemented security policies are very important to maintain the quality and
reliability of any software application.
V.OUR CONTRIBUTION
The following are some of our recommendations that should be considered when
deploying or using any open source software.
A.Notification
Getting users to update to the lasted version of the application has been a long lasting
issue with Open Source Software. The main reason for this was attributed to the lack
of awareness about the security update. All the security patches to the application are
pushed to consumers through such updates.
Maintenance is very important to maintain the quality and reliability of the product.
In the software industry updates are a form of maintenance.
We suggest Open source software community to start notifying consumers about the
update. This can done by assigning a unique identification for each of its users and
mandatorily collecting their contact information. Subscribing users to the respective

The Life Of Quentin Tarantino
Quentin Tarantino a director well known for it s violence and bloodshed content in
his movies, was not only a great director, but also a legend of it s time. Quentin
Tarantino turned his studio from an art house studio to a national studio in
Hollywood and created a genre of it s own. Why is he such a remarkable figure in the
filmindustry? It was due to his success in this industry, clearly. At the age of 31, he
was made almost a hero among young filmmaker and audience with the release of
Pulp Fiction (1994), which shows a significant development in his work. Quentin

60s Makeup Look
60s Makeup Look
The 1960s were the start of a huge boom in the use of makeup and the 1960 s differs
from the bright Day Glo shades of the 80 s and the natural look of the 90 s. If you are
looking for a really authentic 60 s makeup look, you will want to go for dramatic,
smoky eyes and nude lips. This look is quite different from the smoky eye and
nude lip of today. The first step is to get all your supplies ready. You will need a good
foundation with medium to heavy coverage, concealer, powder, brow pencil, frosty
peach blush, black eyeshadow, a lash curler, false lashes, mascara and nude lip pencil
and beige lipstick.
The first thing to do is to apply your foundation. You can apply the foundation with
your fingers if you wish or use a damp makeup sponge. One tip is to do what the
pros do and use a foundation brush. Use concealer to cover up any imperfections of
the skin such as dark undereye circles and blemishes. For this look, apply
foundation even to your lips so that there is a nude base for your liner and lipstick.
Set your base with a liberal dusting of powder. The look should be matte, not dewy.

Accentuate your natural arch with the pencil. If your brows are too thick, pluck
them first. Unruly brows can be held in place with a dab of brow gel, clear mascara
or even a little hair gel. Next, use an eyeshadow applicator or brush to apply the
black shadow to the lids and crease. Blend gently. Wet the applicator and dip it into
the black shadow again. With the wet shadow, apply a dramatic line to the upper
and lower lash lines. You may also want to use liquid black eyeliner if you don t
like using wet shadow. Wing the liner out at the outer corners for a cat eye look.
After the liner is dry, apply the false eyelashes. When they are securely adhered, curl
your lashes to blend them with the falsies and apply two coats of black
Essay On A Shop
Where West Carolina meets Sixth Avenue, there is a store that stands out from the
rest. In front of both surrounding shops resides an empty, cracked sidewalk. It is
uninviting to the public and well fit with the rest of the beaten down, encasements of
what once was lively. Now, though, instead of energetic, those tan and blue tinted
boxes are sloppily slathered in a depressing coat of cracking paint. Re tail Therapy,
however, is the opposite of the lifelessness that surrounds it. Two wooden cutouts sit
in front of the shop. They inspire hope within passerby s that encourages them to

They look up and examine the condition of the visitor before quietly returning to
their chore. Aside from the gentle tapping given off by their work, the store
returns to its silence. To the immediate right of the door sits a mid sized cardboard
box filled with various sized photographs, drawings, and paintings. The box itself
is rather plain aside from some pen markings on the top right corner. Five Dollars.
In the front of the collection of artwork is rustic looking picture. An off white
background is split into sections by light brown lines throughout the paper, giving
it a vintage appearance. The centerpiece of the picture, however, is a vibrant rose.
There is one fully blossomed flower connected to three buds and a half bloomed
flower. The top right corner holds a white sticker stating the price of the rose as
eight dollars, suggesting the prices of the artwork contained in the box had been
dropped perhaps due to lack of interest. The silence of the store is broken again by
a soft meow from behind the box. A tender creature, with white paws and stomach,
approaches from behind the box and investigates the new visitor to her home. Large,
green eyes stare at the newcomer, awaiting the attention that many before had given
to her. Once the engagement is over, the dark grey animal will carry about with her
business and playing with her sister. A green iron rack containing various works

A Study On Childhood Cancer
Background
A study was conducted in Sierra Vista, Arizona and Churchill County, Nevada
concerning an increase in childhood cancer cases between the age of 0.8 and 12.8
years old.
Between the two locations, 14 children with Leukemia were chosen to take place in
this study.
The children were compared based off of demographics, urinary and blood levels
(metals,
tungsten, pesticides, etc.) as well as location of residence compared to the rest of the
U.S.
Population. Variables were used in the determination of whether or not environmental
exposure
was the cause of the increase in cancer related cases among children and to determine
if this was
indeed a cancer cluster. The results indicated that these findings were not a cancer
cluster, but
yet individual cancer cases.
Discussion
The statistical test that was done for table 3 was the geometric mean in order to
compare
the three groups. This type of test takes the average of a set of numbers. It is derived
by taking
the nth root of the product of n numbers. The geometric means of urinary levels of
tungsten in
Sierra Vista, AZ and Churchill County, NV were compared with the levels in the U.S.
population. The test determined that only 20% of the children in AZ had higher
levels of
tungsten and about half had levels below the national average. The data for Sierra
Vista and
Churchill County are not statistically significant; however, the data for the U.S.
Population is

The second demo is important because it helps to bring the company staff on board
so that they can embrace every stage of the project. They will therefore be supportive
of the project hence conflicts like conflicts with SRT locomotive engineers,
mechanical engineers, and transport operators will be minimized.
Part B: Subject Matter Experts
Subject matter experts (SME) provide all technical and management details during
the project charter creation process (Project Management Institute, 2013, p. 71).
SMEs will be able to aid the project manager with launching the project and develop
the project s business strategy. They can perform project tasks based on their current
expertise and allow the project manager to spend more time on competencies such as
communication planning. Another business requirement is the timely delivery of
quality modules and equipment by the suppliers. The main task of the project team is
to install the modules and equipment on the trains. It is therefore essential that the
products are procured in good time. It is the task of ECO Trans to ensure that quality
equipment is delivered in time for the completion of the project. The delivered
components should be inspected for quality at the time of delivery to ensure they
match the client s quality needs and recommendations (Burke, 2013). Any defective
components should be noted and returned to the supplier. This would help

The main reason for joining and fighting the protests against the regime was above
all, for the free flow of information (Ryan, 2011). This idea was in line with
Anonymous usual reason for fighting transparency in information, and freedom of
communication. The Egyptian regime of the time had tried to limit activism and
protests by blocking certain parts of the internet, such as Facebook and Twitter. Non
coincidentally, those two social media platforms were also the main sources of both
outside communication (which helped garner international support) and internal
communication (which helped organize protests and the movement in general)
(Lynch, 2016). In order to circumvent this limitation, Anonymous helped Egyptians in
a number of ways. The most important method of assistance was to send a care
packet, which consisted of a script to avoid detection and the blockade by the
government, and other instructions to do so (Ryan, 2011). When they were unable to
help certain people by communicating through the internet, Anonymous even went as
far as sending faxes for important information (Ryan,
Indigenous People In The 1500s
The indigenous have been mistreated by the Europeans since the 1500 s, from the
cod fishing to the fur trading. The indigenous were kidnapped by the Europeans,
forced to change cultures, and used for the European benefits. The indigenous life
was not one of joy, but of sadness, and torture. In the 1500 s, the Beothuk peoples
encountered Europeans for the first time, when they first came to fish cod, but they
didn t establish a trading partnership. It wasn t until the early 1800 s when the
Europeans took action and captured Beothuk peoples, Shawnadithit, her mother, and
her sister, and took them back to Europe. Shawnadithit s mother and sister died in
Europe from European diseases. Later on, the Europeans took Shawnadithit back to
her point of capture, she then caught tuberculosis and died in 1829, she was the last
known Beothuk person alive. If the Europeans hadn t captured Shawnadithit and her
family in the first place, the Beothuk peoples would still be alive to this day, and they

Comp 2 Racism in Blazing Saddles
Even in the advanced world we live in today, racism is still a strong presence in our
everyday lives. Racism today can be seen in a variety of ways that are different
than past displays. For instance, my friends that attended public high schools said
that they noticed more racism from African Americans toward Caucasians than
vice versa. In a lot of movies that are released in theaters today, it seems that the
directors do a very good job of not displaying racism in movies, unless the movie is
obviously about racism. In one of Mel Brooks most well known movies the 1974
film, Blazing Saddles, racism is shown in a different manner than almost any other ...

gun on himself. The crowd obviously has no idea what goes through another races

individualistic. In the essay, Growing Up Asian in America, by Kesaya E. Noda

Satire and Critique in Dead Soul by Nikolai Vasilievich
Gogol
A Satire for the Ages Satirical fiction, although unique and one of a kind in its nature,
has continued to be an enthralling and captivating subject out of the plethora of
themes that exist throughout literature history and thrive to this day. While the many
forms of humor that appear throughout a novel, from comical, ironic characters to
witty, exaggerated plots, are often considered tame and childish themes, authors,
skillful and clever alike, are able to utilize such forms of humor and transform them
into a means of stirring emotion within their audiences, in order to deliver logical,
yet powerful messages. For centuries, authors have used satires as devices to not
only ridicule, but to expose and criticize people s stupidity and... Show more content

But as Tchitchikov visits individual after individual, the honest picture of the hero is
slowly unveiled thus the very first message Gogol delivers is not to judge any noble
by mere appearance. Although Tchitchikov does indeed possess many great social
qualities, he uses them only to his advantage. Tchitchikov sweet talks every noble he
encounters and, whether it be by overpowering them with intellect or by playing them
with words, forces them to give him the dead souls that he desires. In addition,
Tchitchikov, throughout the account, continues to resort to immoral decisions. While
he had gained many friends of high status in the town of N, he finds himself abusing
their kindness and hospitality to try and get rich, which ultimately ruins him soon
after. A second time, while having the opportunity to settle down and earn money
honestly, he finds himself getting caught up in a scandal. Gogol very comically
criticizes how, unless deciding to change, Russian nobles, in their pride and greed,
will continue to make the same mistakes, time and time again. Another means by
which Gogol is able to present a satire of Russian life is the portrayal of women
throughout the novel. The first woman Tchitchikov encounters is Madame
Korobotcha. It can be seen that he converses with her with less decorum and

methodical (See Appendix A for Interview Protocol). According to Meehan, 20014),
Literature Review On Concrete
1.Literature review on concrete:
The definition of high strength changes over the years as concrete strength used in
the field increases. Any construction activity requires several materials such as
concrete, steel, brick, stone, glass, clay, mud, wood, and so on. However, the cement
concrete remains the main construction material used in construction industries. For
its suitability and adaptability with respect to the changing environment, the concrete
must be such that it can conserve resources, protect the environment, economize and
lead to proper utilization of energy. To achieve this, major emphasis must be laid on
the use of wastes and byproducts in cement and concrete used for new constructions.
The utilization of recycled aggregate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Concrete having a 28 day compressive strength of at least 41.4 MPa (6000 psi) is
normally considered high strength.
High compressive strengths are achieved by using a low water to cementations
materials ratio, requiring the use of water reducing admixtures to provide adequate
workability. High strength concrete offers significant economic advantages over
conventional normal strength concrete (NSC) because more slender members can be
designed, resulting in reduced material and transportation costs. As structural
components become more slender, deflection becomes a more crucial issue, making
long term creep and shrinkage deformations especially important in HSC structures.
HSC offers many advantages over conventional concrete. The high compressive
strength can be advantageously used in compression members like columns and
piles. Higher compressive strength of concrete results reduction in column size and
increases available floor space. HSC can also be effectively used in structures such
as domes, folded plates, shells and arches where large in plane compressive stresses
exist. The relatively higher compressive strength per unit volume, per unit weight will
also reduce the overall dead load on foundation of a structure with HSC.
Homelessness And Child Abuse
There s a high rate of homelessness among the children who was been in the foster
care but age out. Many children are going to the foster care because of many

Adoption is not the only possible option because there s other things that foster
kids are needed. Donation is one of the things that we can offer, these children
needs supplies for their daily neccesities and your donation would help to provide
it to them. You can also be a respite care provider especially to those families who
ve been struggling in their lives and need some break time or just need some help
to get back on track that help not only gonna give them a chance to get back on
track but it could also avoid children sending to the foster care because their parents
couldn t take the pressure that life is giving them. And another thing if money is
something you cant offer right now and you are not comfortable to try to provide
respite care then mentoring could be your viable option, guidance and support are
some of the biggest thing that is missing in these children life and your mentoring
could give them some hope and encouragement to not give up to their dreams.
Helping children in foster care doesn t limit you to adopting, you can always use
your time, money, skills and education whichever you are comfortable giving even
just a word of the mouth would make a big impact as well if we work together and

Terrorism, The Nuclear Hazard And Black Market
In the spectrum of modern international politics the key preeminent threats to security
and the sense of freedom from those threats are terrorism, the nuclear hazard and
black market in materiel. These three security issues, not only affect national and
international security, but also societal and economic security. Terrorism, has
maintained the status as a preeminent threat in the modern world today, but has also
become a worldwide phenomenon that has impacted not only in the Middle East but
also in the Western World alike. Terrorism has rapidly become a increasing security
issue as attacks upon innocent non combatants (Howard, L, 1992) have proliferated
around the world, and are no longer an occurrence that can be conveniently ignored
by society, that can not only undermine and make superpowers appear vulnerable, but
instils fear into civilians and governments alike. In addition to these factors, economy
expert Kimberly Amadeo surveyed the economic security of the United States after
the September 2001 twin tower bombings that killed 2993 and injured 8900 people.
Amadeo (2014) found that the 2001 attacks caused the Dow Jones to drop more than
600 points, subsequently leading to the 2001 recession. This puts the security issue of
terrorism into not only the category of national and societal security, but also that
concerning the national economy that increases in volatility, as the relationship
between the political structures of international anarchy (Makinda,

1.Using examples from the topics in the lectures and article presentations we have
had so far, identify and explore a unifying theme of this material.
A unifying theme of the material thus far is skeletal muscle adaptation. We have
looked at the adaptations of resistance exercise using body builders as our prime
example compared to adaptations in endurance athletes such as marathon runners as
well as sprinters. In the article presentations, we have also looked at diet
manipulation and timing of exercise (once a day vs twice daily) and the effects on
training responses. We know that the load and ATP demand play a
Erectile Dysfunction ( Impotence )
Erectile dysfunction (impotence) is the inability to get and keep an erection firm
enough for sexual intercourse. Male sexual arousal is a complex process that
involves the brain, hormones, emotions, nerves, muscles and blood vessels. Erectile
dysfunction can result from a problem with any of these. Likewise, stress and mental
health concerns can cause or worsen erectile dysfunction.
Having erection issues can cause stress, affect your self confidence and contribute to
relationship problems. Recent researches have shown than poor erection also can be
a sign of an underlying health condition especially heart disease .
Whom to discuss with
The main hurdle in this diasease is tht the affected person is hesitant to approach a
urologist. Talk to your doctor even if you re embarrassed.
Like most of the diseases a family doctor is always good place to start when you have
erectile problems. He will either manage or refer you a urologist especially trained to
treat such patient
Causes of erectile dysfunction:
Grossly there are mainly three main reason for ED may happen because:
There not enough blood flowing into the penis
The Blood entering into the penis cannot stay for long time. A.
The Nerve signals reaching the penis from the brain or spinal cord are injured.
A combination of physical and psychological issues causes erectile dysfunction. For
instance, a minor physical condition that slows your sexual response might cause
anxiety about maintaining an erection. The

Measles The highly infectious disease known as measles is caused by the rubeola
virus. The rubeola virus is a single stranded RNA virus that is spread via contact
with aerosolized particles from respiratory secretions. The incubation period for the
virus is 10 to 12 days, and starts presenting as fever, cough, runny nose, and
conjunctivitis, which last a few days. During this period, spots appear on mucous
membranes of cheeks and lips that appear as gray white lesions on a bright red
surface. The rash that begins 14 days post exposure is characterized by an
erythrematous, maculopapular eruption starting on the face/head, and spreading

Since the introduction of the live attenuated vaccine in 1967, the incidences of
mumps have declined significantly. The vaccine was implemented as a routine
childhood vaccination in 1977, and is most commonly combined with measles, and
rubella (MMR) or measles, rubella, and varicella (MMRV). Diagnosis is usually
made based on clinical symptoms, mostly parotitis, but laboratory testing when that
symptom is either absent, or could be due to other causes and differentiation is
needed. There are reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR)
methods that can identify viral RNA, but they have yet to be standardized and
cannot be used to identify immune status. Serological testing id still the simplest,
and most practical way of confirming diagnosis and immune status. Out of
numerous serological methods for the detection of antibodies, immunofluorescence
and ELISA assays are the most commonly used because they are sensitive, specific,
cost effective, and readily performed in clinical laboratories. IgG antibodies to
mumps become detectable after 7 to 10 days and persist for years. Presence of
mumps specific IgG antibodies is indicative of immunity either from past exposure or

Most businesses use more than one way to communicate internally and externally.
This is vital to running a business effectively. Without communication, information
would not get passed on, information that is potentially needed to carry out tasks
within the business. Different methods are used, for example, Phones, letters,
internal post, email and an internal instant messaging system. Most of the methods
listed above are used every single day in the work place, some more often than
others, but either way they both have a high volume usage rate every day. There
are many different ways to communicate as it is a big business, any one of these
methods could break during any day. For example, if your phone is broken, there

making information, instructions, requests etc. as clear and as brief as possible is
a good way to communicate. This doesn t just apply to people whose first language

example, visually and hearing impaired individuals will need communicating to
more clearly as they have difficulty communicating in the more popular ways. A lot
of people do not appreciate jargon. It is important to communicate in plain English.
This is extremely important when you are writing formally. You must use plain

Rhizobacteria Case Study
This specific study investigates an Azatobacter strain, pseudomonas strain and how
these two interact on soybean performance. This experiment was designed as a split
plot factorial, it also hard a completely randomized design. It used four chemical
fertilizers and four levels of plant growth promoting Rhizobacteria. The result was
measured by physiological maturity, number of spikes per unit area, harvest index,
plant yield, grain yield, plant height, protein content and girth. This article related
directly to my experiment because the parameters used to obtain the results of my

This article investigates the effects of bacterial bio fertilizers on the growth and yield
of rice which is a grain. Bacterial bio fertilizers investigated in this article include
Azatobacter species and pseudomonas species which were isolated from the soil of
agricultural crops through employment of plating techniques. This isolation was
achieved through selective medium such as Rhizobium medium for rhiobium species,
pikovskayas agar for phosphate solubilising microbes and manitol agar for
Azatobacter. These bacteria were used to inoculate seeds. After 50 days of growth the
physical parameters were measured, they included breadth of leaves, number of
leaves, length of shoot, number of flowers, length of root, number of seeds, and
number of pods. The result was that all this parameters increased but in different
proportions. These findings are directly related to my experiment which invests the

Introduction
The purpose of this investigation is to look at robotic surgeries using the Da Vinci
System and laparoscopic surgeries to see, which one is better for a hospital to
purchase based on cost effectiveness. These two styles of surgery have their own
strengths and weaknesses, and the style that is better will be decided based upon
variables, such as types of surgeries it can be used for, cost, etc. The field of
medicine has advanced significantly in the past two decades. This is because of the
innovation that has taken place with computers, making them smaller and faster.
Computers are now placed in almost all devices to help to make them more stable
and safer to use. The idea of laparoscopic surgery cannot be traced back to a ... Show

Originally there were two robotic systems, one was the Zeus System and the other
was the Da Vinci System. The Da Vinci system quickly overtook the Zeus system,
and the company that developed the Zeus system is now under control Intuitive
Surgical Systems. (Fischer, 2012) The Da Vinci System has advanced since its
birth, and is more prominent today. This robot has gone through many redesigns to
keep up with the changing field of medicine. The Da Vinci robot is able to perform
surgeries with the help of a surgeon guiding the robot. This makes surgery easier,
efficient, and recovery time is decreased. The robot has revolutionized how
surgeries now take place, because they are less intrusive and help patients have a
faster recovery time; however, these robots are very expensive for hospitals and
the cost to have a surgery using one of these robots differs from one hospital to
another. These robots are the future of medicine, and soon the robot will be able to
perform all types of surgeries with the help of a surgeon. Currently the Da Vinci
System can be used to perform a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, prostatectomy,
colectomy, hernia repair, pulmonary lobectomy, cardiac surgeries, gastric bypass, and
hysterectomy. These are a significantly greater amount of procedures that can be
performed, in comparison to laparoscopy. The Da Vinci system was an idea that was
first developed by the Stanford Research Institute in 1980. After that almost 19 years

Integration Of Ann Based Proxy Model
Integration of ANN based Proxy model in EnKF Framework After development of
an accurate proxy model based on ANN, the next task is to combine it with existing
EnKF framework for assisted history matching. Permeability realizations are
represented in terms of eigenvalues and corresponding eigen functions along with
random variables using KL expansion as described in section 2.2. Once the
eigenvalues and their corresponding eigen functions are determined after truncating
terms in KL expansion, a realization can be generated with a certain number of
values Оѕ_i from the standard Gaussian distribution N(0,1) using Eqn. (13). Each
vector of random variable represents a permeability realization. These random
variable vectors are used as input parameters for development of the proxy models.
General workflow for development of the proxy models has been shown in Fig.4.
A detailed explanation for proxy model generation will be provided in further
section using a real field case study of SAGD reservoir. The proxy models are then
used in forecast step of EnKF. EnKF workflow starts from construction of a state
vector shown in Eqn. (2). In KL ANN EnKF approach, state vector consists of
random variables as model parameters representing the permeability field along with
production parameters. In forecast step, reservoir simulator is replaced by the
proposed ANN proxy model and production parameters are estimated considering
random variables as input parameters. Output spread is
The New Moon Poem
In the book New Moon, the author Stephenie Meyer tells the story about the main
character Bella who is yet aged another year and is worried that she is physically
getting older than her boyfriend, Edward Cullen. Edward is a vampire. After days
of strange, distant behavior, Edward takes Bella for a walk and informs her that he
is leaving Forks. Bella is now devastated and doesn t know what to do with her life,
until she starts hanging out with Jacob. This book compares to the poem Not. by
Erin Hanson. The poem not is about accepting who you are. Not comparing
yourself to others by what you wear or what your weight is. You are where you
have been, how many people love you, the things you dream about, and the photos
hung up in your room with memories. With the similarities and differences I have
connected these two pieces of writing and compared them through author s and
goals, and the theme behind each piece. The book and the poem have multiple
similarities throughout the book but some of the differences that I have found
were themes. The theme that had carried throughout the book New Moon was love
and loss. Bella felt feelings so deeply for Edward that when he left, her heart
crumbled and everything around her. For example, Edward never gave her a reason
on why he left. He was everything to her and then he just left, taking a piece of Bella
s heart with him. Bella was everything to him, and he chose to keep her safe by
leaving. Throughout the book, the characters have

The Impact Of Neoliberal Institutionalism On The United...
RAL INSTITUTIONALISM Neoliberal Institutionalism is one of many schools of
international relations theory often used to both describe and predict trends and
characteristics of the global political landscape. The new liberal institutionalist school
of international relations theory owes it roots to the functional integration study of
the 1950 s and 1960 s, and the complex interdependence scholarship of the 1970 s and
1980 s (Lamy p.132). As part of the larger umbrella of liberal approaches, neoliberal
institutionalism holds a typically positive view of humanity and possibilities for
interaction, peace and cooperation, yet places more emphasis on exploring the role of
institutions than its predecessors. To comprehensively understand the neoliberal
institutional approach to world politics, it is also necessary to understand its
opposing theory of neorealism. While the two schools of thought disagree on the
implications of political structure, both scholarships share similar epistemology and
asks largely the same questions which is why Keohane and Martin(1999:3) refer to
neoliberal institutionalism as the half sibling of neorealism ; making it insufficient to
discuss one without comparing it to the other. Therefore I have framed much of my
definition of neoliberal institutionalism in the context of the neo neo debate. As
mentioned above, the state centric theoretical approaches of neoliberal
institutionalism and neorealism shares in many key assumptions of the global

Why Nations Fail By Daron Acemoglu And James A.
Robinson
Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson explains the
different and unique origins of power, prosperity, and poverty for certain nations.
The preface of Why Nations Fail foreshadows what is next to come by explaining
that key historical events in life can make or break a country s success and future.
Next, each chapter dives into these key historical events, known as case studies, and
analyses that chapter s nation(s) and why the nation is either poverty stricken or
prosperous. This is known as the book s methodology. The authors give examples
such as with inclusive and extractive institutions to argue against theories that suggest
why nations are poor that are not correct such as the geography hypothesis, culture
hypothesis, and ignorance hypothesis. This book argues that nations have and will
continue to fail politically and economically if they implement extractive institutions
instead of inclusive institutions. The gap in literature between the authors of Why
Nations Fail and other authors of works of non fiction that describe why nations fail
is the nature of specific institutions. These institutions are inclusive economic
institutions, inclusive political institutions, extractive economic institutions, and
extractive political institutions. These different institutions are the main focus of the
book. The authors go on in detail as to why these institutions are so key to
understanding how a nation became to poverty stricken or rich. The authors of Why
Nations Fail particularly dislike and articulate why hypothesis such as the geography,
ignorance and culture hypothesis are not sufficient evidence for why a nation was
and still continue to be poor to this day. These hypotheses can be known as the
fallacious hypotheses. The first fallacious hypothesis is the geography hypothesis.
The geography hypothesis states that the differences between countries and their
economic success is due their geography and where they are located. For example, the
French philosopher Montesquieu believed that tropical climates were less prosperous
than temperate climates because the soil is not the most productive and the tropical
climatemade the inhabitants lazy, and therefore making them work less and
Essay on Malibu Fires
Malibu Fires
Human beings are able to adapt to almost any environment, unfortunately sometimes
we take advantage of our natural surroundings. We find ourselves amidst a struggle
between our lifestyles and nature. Although we affect nature profoundly with our
activities, we in turn are shaped by nature s potent forces.
Nature can be brutal to humans, but we must remember that it merely is following its
course. As a result, we must learn to coexist with it. Fire is a naturally occurring
phenomenon which humans have learned to deal with throughout history.
Yet when fire burns uncontrollably, there is great potential for monumental damage to

1980 that burned 55 homes at the mouth of the San Gabriel Canyon. The total
damage caused by wildfires in the San Gabriel Mountains within the past 60 years
amounted to the loss of 332 homes.
Statistically, Malibu and its surrounding area has seen much damage done to its
vegetation and inhabitants. There have been 24 wildfires that burned a total of
271,047 acres since 1927. These fires have caused a total of five deaths and the
destruction of 1,502 homes along with 830 other structures.
Recent fires include the Malibu fire in 1985, Dayton Fire in 1982 and Malibu
Canyon fire in 1970. In the Malibu Fire, 103 homes were destroyed; in the
Dayton Fire, 85 homes were destroyed. The Malibu Canyon Fire, which joined
forces with the New Hall Fire on September 25, 1970, destroyed a total of 135 homes
and burned through a total of 85,000 acres (Wildfire sec. 2 p.1). Out of all the homes
burned, 70 were located in Malibu and 65 in Chatsworth (Wildfire sec. 2 p.1).
Previous to that fire, the last time Topanga Canyon had seen a damaging fire was
December 30, 1956, when 74 homes were destroyed (Wildfire sec.
3 p.1). Another painful memory for Topanga Canyon occurred between 1938 and
1943, during which time three fires destroyed more than 600 structures.

by the media, who failed to recognise that China s growth is still large. Combined
with Australia s diversified exports and strong international trade relations, I
concluded Australia does not overly rely on China as suggested by the media, and
should continue to grow in the long run at a healthy rate regardless of the slowdown.

Recently, as China has shown a reduction in its rate of GDP growth there have been
many fears this could have negative implications for the Australian economy. Lord
Mervyn King, a former Bank of England governor, says that a slowdown in China
My Childhood And Adolescent Years
In every person s lifetime, they experience phases of life in all aspects. Phases of
life that people endure are comparable to opening a door to enter a room. Whether
a person enters an area through a door or over a bridge, they are entering another
place from the one they were in previously. Entering another phase of life is similar
in numerous ways to passing through an entryway, as an unambiguous person or
group of people can exit a timeworn phase of life and move on to another one. My
escapade to UMass Lowell acts as a lifelong road; one that has engaged various
turns throughout my childhood and teenage years, and has plenty of points of
interest located at my memorable moments. My childhood and adolescent years
before college were an endless roadway that has gone through a long cycle of
straightaways and turns. Since I was a toddler, I have lived my life with a
condition that is common in an intermediate percentage of other toddlers known as
autism. Ever since my diagnosis, every moment of my life has always been
something different than the moments that have happened before. The road of my
life would always stay straight when I would develop into a change that would
remain constant for a while, and would often turn for a healthier or poorer moment
of my life whenever it would happen. The path my life s road would travel through
depends on the temporary or permanent alterations that would occur in me, whether
physically, mentally or socially. My road s path also
Exploring Racial Discrimination in the Case, Dunlap v....
The case, Dunlap v. Tennessee Valley Authority, explores the issue of suspected racial
discrimination associated with disparate treatment and disparate impact caused by the
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) against a qualified, experienced boilermaker and
foreman that is African American. Questions for the court to evaluate regarding this
case include: Is this a case of disparate treatment and/or impact and was the plaintiff,
David Dunlap, subject to racial discrimination? Finally, did the TVA use personal
hiring practices that allowed for racial bias in the interviewing process?
What are the legal issues of this case? The Court in the 6th Circuit was to determine
if the plaintiff, David Dunlap, had met the burden of proof that his ... Show more

The proof of discriminatory intent is not required and although the court concluded
that TVA s processes with interviewing had been manipulated to exclude African
American candidates in general, the court disagreed, citing the lack of statistical
proof demonstrating that a protected group was adversely affected thus establishing a
prima facie case (Walsh, 2010). Dunlap did not prove, within the evidence presented,
that the procedures TVA used were practiced prior. Although the district court
concluded that TVA s interview process had been manipulated to exclude African
American candidates (Walsh, 2010), the court of appeals disagreed because it did
not believe there was analytical data that blatantly prove how any protected group
was impacted adversely. The court found that Dunlap can only challenge his specific
interview processes and not an entire group.
Explain why the plaintiff s disparate treatment claims succeed?
The disparate treatment doctrine requires that any plaintiff must demonstrate that an
employer has treated some group of people less favorably than others because of any
protected classification to include their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
According to Walsh, Three provisions required to prove disparate treatment are (1)
the plaintiff must establish a prima facie case of racial discrimination; (2) the
employer must articulate some legitimate, nondiscriminatory

Title
The Killing Woods is a murder mystery written by Lucy Christopher who,
ironically, does not reveal the mystery of who killed a girl named Ashlee and the
suffering of Emily Shepherd. Christopher builds suspicion among characters but
the mystery is never resolved. Ashlee Parker is dead, and Emily Shepherd s dad is
accused of the crime. A former soldier suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder,
he emerges from the woods carrying the girl s broken body. It makes him a suspect
but it is not clear he killed Ashlee. His daughter Emily looks for evidence to prove
her father s innocence but she created more suspects. Lucy Christopher adds suspects
as the story goes on and shows how Emily supports her father and finds evidences to
make her father a free man. Christopher creates sympathy towards Emily ... Show

I won t tell you who the romance is between, but I felt it was unnecessary and took
away from the murder element, making it a more obviously teenage book. That s
just me, though, and I know a lot of people will appreciate this part. The
differentiation between the two narratives is really good, and you see the effect that
both characters have on each other. Lucy Christopher s writing is really clever; at
one point in the book, Emily shows Damon the painting her dad drew. Whilst Emily
thinks it will prove to Damon that it was her dad (at this point, Emily is doubting
even her own father), Damon thinks Emily is showing it to him to prove she knows
about The Game , and thinks that he commited the murder. The Game is a brilliant
addition to the book, which I won t tell you anything about, since I ll give away the
whole plot, but it has a really modern twist on the whole murder

Introduction This proposal investigates the possibility of combined use of PCMs and sensible heat to improve the thermal performance of hot water tanks (HWT) hence to shift the peak power demand. And demonstrate a theoretical experiment results about comparison between the proposed system designs and the HWT without combination of PCMs. 2. Background 2.1. Thermal energy storage and phase change materials Thermal energy storage (TES) system store excess thermal energy with different applications and materials and release it for later use. For example, it is preferred to choose high density and small volume change materials, which also called as physical properties [7] because large changes in volume would result in a large and complexity system size. [10] Furthermore, the expenses of the materials, as common sense, are not expected to be too high, which also considered as the economic properties. In other words, the thermal storage system should be sufficient economically efficient. In the study done by Sharma et al. in 2006, a theoretical method to calculate the effect of thermo physical properties of heat exchanger container materials on the thermal performance of the storage system was given. [11] They gave the conclusion that the PCM complete melting time would decrease due to the enhancement of in thermal conductivity of container material. They also reported that the melted fraction of the PCM would be dominated either by the thickness of heat exchanger container material nor the initial PCM temperature, but the boundary wall temperature during the melting process. 2.3. • 3. A Brief Note On Security Tactics Adoption And A Security... IV.CRITICAL ANALYSIS Ryoo, J. et al. was successful in investigating the degree of security tactics adoption and clearly identified a security gap between the design and implementation of the software. The authors followed a manual process to study security vulnerabilities in open source software. Processes like code review or searching for security keywords in the documentation or source code does not prove if the software protects its users from malicious intrusions or leaking private data. The authors searched for keywords like security, authenticate, authorize, cipher, encrypt etc. in the source code of the selected 53 Open Source Software to see if any of these security tactics appear as file names or class names. To identify such critical bugs, there has to be an automated testing framework that tests common programming errors, data leakage and other ways of malicious intrusions into the application. This paper is very limited to identifying the rate of usage of the security tactics in open source software. Well documented and implemented security policies are very important to maintain the quality and reliability of any software application. V.OUR CONTRIBUTION The following are some of our recommendations that should be considered when deploying or using any open source software. A.Notification Getting users to update to the lasted version of the application has been a long lasting issue with Open Source Software. The main reason for this was attributed to the lack of awareness about the security update. All the security patches to the application are pushed to consumers through such updates. Maintenance is very important to maintain the quality and reliability of the product. In the software industry updates are a form of maintenance. We suggest Open source software community to start notifying consumers about the update. This can done by assigning a unique identification for each of its users and mandatorily collecting their contact information. Subscribing users to the respective open source

  • 5. 60s Makeup Look 60s Makeup Look The 1960s were the start of a huge boom in the use of makeup and the 1960 s differs from the bright Day Glo shades of the 80 s and the natural look of the 90 s. If you are looking for a really authentic 60 s makeup look, you will want to go for dramatic, smoky eyes and nude lips. This look is quite different from the smoky eye and nude lip of today. The first step is to get all your supplies ready. You will need a good foundation with medium to heavy coverage, concealer, powder, brow pencil, frosty peach blush, black eyeshadow, a lash curler, false lashes, mascara and nude lip pencil and beige lipstick. The first thing to do is to apply your foundation. You can apply the foundation with your fingers if you wish or use a damp makeup sponge. One tip is to do what the pros do and use a foundation brush. Use concealer to cover up any imperfections of the skin such as dark undereye circles and blemishes. For this look, apply foundation even to your lips so that there is a nude base for your liner and lipstick. Set your base with a liberal dusting of powder. The look should be matte, not dewy. Unruly brows can be held in place with a dab of brow gel, clear mascara or even a little hair gel. Next, use an eyeshadow applicator or brush to apply the black shadow to the lids and crease. A Study On Childhood Cancer Background A study was conducted in Sierra Vista, Arizona and Churchill County, Nevada concerning an increase in childhood cancer cases between the age of 0.8 and 12.8 years old. Between the two locations, 14 children with Leukemia were chosen to take place in this study. The children were compared based off of demographics, urinary and blood levels (metals, tungsten, pesticides, etc.) as well as location of residence compared to the rest of the U.S. Population. Variables were used in the determination of whether or not environmental exposure was the cause of the increase in cancer related cases among children and to determine if this was indeed a cancer cluster. The results indicated that these findings were not a cancer cluster, but yet individual cancer cases. Discussion The statistical test that was done for table 3 was the geometric mean in order to compare the three groups. This type of test takes the average of a set of numbers. It is derived by taking the nth root of the product of n numbers. The geometric means of urinary levels of tungsten in Sierra Vista, AZ and Churchill County, NV were compared with the levels in the U.S. population. The test determined that only 20% of the children in AZ had higher levels of tungsten and about half had levels below the national average. The data for Sierra

This idea was in line with Anonymous usual reason for fighting transparency in information, and freedom of communication. The Egyptian regime of the time had tried to limit activism and protests by blocking certain parts of the internet, such as Facebook and Twitter. Non coincidentally, those two social media platforms were also the main sources of both outside communication (which helped garner international support) and internal communication (which helped organize protests and the movement in general) (Lynch, 2016). While the many forms of humor that appear throughout a novel, from comical, ironic characters to witty, exaggerated plots, are often considered tame and childish themes, authors, skillful and clever alike, are able to utilize such forms of humor and transform them into a means of stirring emotion within their audiences, in order to deliver logical, yet powerful messages. But as Tchitchikov visits individual after individual, the honest picture of the hero is slowly unveiled thus the very first message Gogol delivers is not to judge any noble by mere appearance. Although Tchitchikov does indeed possess many great social qualities, he uses them only to his advantage. Tchitchikov sweet talks every noble he encounters and, whether it be by overpowering them with intellect or by playing them with words, forces them to give him the dead souls that he desires. In addition, Tchitchikov, throughout the account, continues to resort to immoral decisions. While he had gained many friends of high status in the town of N, he finds himself abusing their kindness and hospitality to try and get rich, which ultimately ruins him soon after. Any construction activity requires several materials such as concrete, steel, brick, stone, glass, clay, mud, wood, and so on. However, the cement concrete remains the main construction material used in construction industries. For its suitability and adaptability with respect to the changing environment, the concrete must be such that it can conserve resources, protect the environment, economize and lead to proper utilization of energy. To achieve this, major emphasis must be laid on the use of wastes and byproducts in cement and concrete used for new constructions. The utilization of recycled aggregate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Concrete having a 28 day compressive strength of at least 41.4 MPa (6000 psi) is normally considered high strength. High compressive strengths are achieved by using a low water to cementations materials ratio, requiring the use of water reducing admixtures to provide adequate workability. High strength concrete offers significant economic advantages over conventional normal strength concrete (NSC) because more slender members can be designed, resulting in reduced material and transportation costs. As structural components become more slender, deflection becomes a more crucial issue, making long term creep and shrinkage deformations especially important in HSC structures. HSC offers many advantages over conventional concrete. The high compressive strength can be advantageously used in compression members like columns and piles. Higher compressive strength of concrete results reduction in column size and increases available floor space. HSC can also be effectively used in structures such as domes, folded plates, shells and arches where large in plane compressive stresses exist. The relatively higher compressive strength per unit volume, per unit weight will also reduce the overall dead load on foundation of a structure with HSC.

Terrorism, has maintained the status as a preeminent threat in the modern world today, but has also become a worldwide phenomenon that has impacted not only in the Middle East but also in the Western World alike. Terrorism has rapidly become a increasing security issue as attacks upon innocent non combatants (Howard, L, 1992) have proliferated around the world, and are no longer an occurrence that can be conveniently ignored by society, that can not only undermine and make superpowers appear vulnerable, but instils fear into civilians and governments alike. Integration Of Ann Based Proxy Model Integration of ANN based Proxy model in EnKF Framework After development of an accurate proxy model based on ANN, the next task is to combine it with existing EnKF framework for assisted history matching. Permeability realizations are represented in terms of eigenvalues and corresponding eigen functions along with random variables using KL expansion as described in section 2.2. Once the eigenvalues and their corresponding eigen functions are determined after truncating terms in KL expansion, a realization can be generated with a certain number of values Оѕ_i from the standard Gaussian distribution N(0,1) using Eqn. (13). Each vector of random variable represents a permeability realization. These random variable vectors are used as input parameters for development of the proxy models. General workflow for development of the proxy models has been shown in Fig.4. A detailed explanation for proxy model generation will be provided in further section using a real field case study of SAGD reservoir. The proxy models are then used in forecast step of EnKF. EnKF workflow starts from construction of a state vector shown in Eqn. (2). In KL ANN EnKF approach, state vector consists of random variables as model parameters representing the permeability field along with production parameters. In forecast step, reservoir simulator is replaced by the proposed ANN proxy model and production parameters are estimated considering random variables as input parameters. Output spread is

The New Moon Poem In the book New Moon, the author Stephenie Meyer tells the story about the main character Bella who is yet aged another year and is worried that she is physically getting older than her boyfriend, Edward Cullen. Edward is a vampire. After days of strange, distant behavior, Edward takes Bella for a walk and informs her that he is leaving Forks. Bella is now devastated and doesn t know what to do with her life, until she starts hanging out with Jacob. This book compares to the poem Not. by Erin Hanson. The poem not is about accepting who you are. Not comparing yourself to others by what you wear or what your weight is. You are where you have been, how many people love you, the things you dream about, and the photos hung up in your room with memories. With the similarities and differences I have connected these two pieces of writing and compared them through author s and goals, and the theme behind each piece. The book and the poem have multiple similarities throughout the book but some of the differences that I have found were themes. The theme that had carried throughout the book New Moon was love and loss. Bella felt feelings so deeply for Edward that when he left, her heart crumbled and everything around her. For example, Edward never gave her a reason on why he left. He was everything to her and then he just left, taking a piece of Bella s heart with him. Bella was everything to him, and he chose to keep her safe by leaving. Throughout the book, the characters have

RAL INSTITUTIONALISM Neoliberal Institutionalism is one of many schools of international relations theory often used to both describe and predict trends and characteristics of the global political landscape. The new liberal institutionalist school of international relations theory owes it roots to the functional integration study of the 1950 s and 1960 s, and the complex interdependence scholarship of the 1970 s and 1980 s (Lamy p.132). As part of the larger umbrella of liberal approaches, neoliberal institutionalism holds a typically positive view of humanity and possibilities for interaction, peace and cooperation, yet places more emphasis on exploring the role of institutions than its predecessors. To comprehensively understand the neoliberal institutional approach to world politics, it is also necessary to understand its opposing theory of neorealism. While the two schools of thought disagree on the implications of political structure, both scholarships share similar epistemology and asks largely the same questions which is why Keohane and Martin(1999:3) refer to neoliberal institutionalism as the half sibling of neorealism ; making it insufficient to discuss one without comparing it to the other. Therefore I have framed much of my definition of neoliberal institutionalism in the context of the neo neo debate. As mentioned above, the state centric theoretical approaches of neoliberal institutionalism and neorealism shares in many key assumptions of the global

  • 38. Why Nations Fail By Daron Acemoglu And James A. Robinson Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson explains the different and unique origins of power, prosperity, and poverty for certain nations. The preface of Why Nations Fail foreshadows what is next to come by explaining that key historical events in life can make or break a country s success and future. Next, each chapter dives into these key historical events, known as case studies, and analyses that chapter s nation(s) and why the nation is either poverty stricken or prosperous. This is known as the book s methodology. The authors give examples such as with inclusive and extractive institutions to argue against theories that suggest why nations are poor that are not correct such as the geography hypothesis, culture hypothesis, and ignorance hypothesis. This book argues that nations have and will continue to fail politically and economically if they implement extractive institutions instead of inclusive institutions. The gap in literature between the authors of Why Nations Fail and other authors of works of non fiction that describe why nations fail is the nature of specific institutions. These institutions are inclusive economic institutions, inclusive political institutions, extractive economic institutions, and extractive political institutions. These different institutions are the main focus of the book. The authors go on in detail as to why these institutions are so key to understanding how a nation became to poverty stricken or rich. The authors of Why Nations Fail particularly dislike and articulate why hypothesis such as the geography, ignorance and culture hypothesis are not sufficient evidence for why a nation was and still continue to be poor to this day. These hypotheses can be known as the fallacious hypotheses. The first fallacious hypothesis is the geography hypothesis. The geography hypothesis states that the differences between countries and their economic success is due their geography and where they are located. For example, the French philosopher Montesquieu believed that tropical climates were less prosperous than temperate climates because the soil is not the most productive and the tropical climatemade the inhabitants lazy, and therefore making them work less and
