Anabolic steroids have been used in animals to promote growth and to obtain higher feed conversion efficiency. However, the toxicological and epidemiological studies in animal derived products such as dairy have raised concerns about the presence of hormones. Presence of anabolic steroids have also been linked with carcinogenic and endocrine disrupting effects in human beings. The potential health hazards of hormones in dairy products necessitates an accurate and sensitive method for quantification of hormones in dairy products. Current work utilizes a new clean-up approach, enhanced matrix removal (EMR) for extraction of anabolic steroids from dairy products. The clean-up approach specifically targets the lipids and fatty acids, which are known to cause matrix interference in high fat dairy products. Extracted samples were chromatographically separated on a phenyl-hexyl UPLC column prior to LC-MS/MS analysis.

SMART METERS are used for accurate billing and meter readings and sending energy consumption directly to the energy supplier.
In early days, the M2M apps were mostly centered on the automotive and transport sectors and were commercial in nature. As the technology developed, applications in other sectors, such as health, agriculture and energy, also became prominent. However, their usage was more concentrated in the developed nations.
In time to come, M2M apps will dominate all sectors and include banking and real estate.

Abstract
Scientist have found evidence that life with cancer can be extended and certain cancers can be prevented by changing dietary habits. People who are influenced by western society and maintain a western diet are in great danger if nothing is done to limit the intake of meat and consumption of process meats. New dietary guidelines are released every 5 years by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the department of Health and Human Services. Both organizations are responsible for reviewing clinical evidence and reports from research, and creating new dietary guidelines for consumers to follow. Critics of the new guidelines argue that the USDA has censored the recommendations to eat less red meat in such a way that only the food corporations funding the research receive benefits. Cancer is caused by multiple factors but mainly from exposure to carcinogens and mutations in DNA. Carcinogens either promote cancer growth or initiate cancer growth. Certain risk factors have been associated with the development of cancers. Air pollution, tobacco use, excessive alcohol consumption, occupational hazards, exposure to radiation, and certain aspects of diet are all risk factors liked to be carcinogenic. The carcinogenic links in diet have been attracting a lot of attention in the scientific community. Scientist working with the national cancer institute, under the national institute of health, have been working together to verify the relationship between consuming meat and processed foods, and the development or progression of cancer. The national cancer institute’s division of cancer prevention, conducted a two-year study that divided 200 people into 2 groups that were diagnosed with colorectal cancer within 3 to 6 months of the study. The control group maintained their normal diet that included eating meat and processed foods while the experimental group eliminated meat and processed foods and maintained a strict vegetarian diet for the life of the experiment. The experiments objective was to test the correlation between meat consumption and the effects of colorectal cancer. The funding assisted with the research needed to find subjects for the study and to transport them to and from facilities rented out to perform colonoscopy or CT scan procedures. Graphs were made to measure the rates of reoccurrence or metastasis. 72 of the 200 participants died during the 24-month long experiment. The participants from the control group suffered a loss of 42%, while the experimental group only lost 30% of its participants before the trial was over. Those who maintained a vegetarian diet displayed an additional 25% chance of not developing metastasis and 26% decrease in polyp reoccurrence. Participants in the study who maintained a vegetarian diet developed end stage cancer or metastasis at slower rates. The informatio ...

Abstract
Cancer is a group of related diseases. It starts by continuously division without stopping of cells. The dividing cells then spread to other tissues that are nearby. Cancer can begin anywhere in the body of humans. The cells of humans always divide and grow to form new ones since the body is in need of them. This paper has the aim of giving a description of cancer, current statistics with regard to this problem, symptoms of cancer, its causes, its intervention or treatment, and biblical perspective of cancer.
Description of Cancer
Cancer is a name that has been assigned to a group of related diseases. In all the types of cancer that have been discovered, the cells of the body start to divide continuously without stopping. The dividing cells then spread to other tissues that are nearby. Usually, cancer begins anywhere in the body of human being, and this is composed of trillions of cells. The cells of human always divide and grow to form new ones since the body is in need of them. Cells usually die while new ones take the place of the ones that die or get damaged (De Pauw, 2008). However, the development of cancer interferes with this orderly process. This is by cells becoming more abnormal. The cells that are damaged survive instead of dying. Also, the new cells begin to be formed even when they are not required (Appendix 1). The extra cells formed even when not required may continue with the process of division without stopping, hence causing growth referred to as a tumor. The solid tumor may result from many cancers, and it is a mass of tissues. But there are cancers that do not form a solid tumor. This is cancer of the blood, such as leukemia (De Pauw, 2008).
Cancerous tumors are malevolent. This means that they spread or invade tissues that are nearby. Moreover, with the continuous growth of the tumor, some cells may break off and move to others parts of the body far from the original tumor to form a new tumor (Bojesen et al., 2013). The cells that break off may move through the lymph or blood system. Apart from the malevolent or malignant tumor, there is a benign tumor. The benign tumor does not spread or invade tissues that are nearby. There are times that this form of the tumor may be a bit large (Bojesen et al., 2013). The good thing with this tumor is that it does not grow back when removed. A malignant tumor has a tendency of growing back. One type of benign tumor that is threatening is the benign brain tumor (Bojesen et al., 2013).
Cancer can be classified into many types. There are approximately more than one hundred types of cancer. The names given to cancers are as a result of the parts of the body whe ...

Esophagus Adenocarcinoma T2N2M0
Adenocarcinoma is a complication of the gastroesophageal reflux that affects the distal esophagus. Out of an estimated 12,500 cases diagnosed in 2000 there were 12,200 deaths. Therefore, the mortality rate is rather high for this type of cancer. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information this type of cancer is currently ranking seventh in the list of the most common cancers in the world (Lerut, 2001). The cancer affects those who are in there mid to late adulthood and only 8% of those who are diagnosed with this disease survive. Mostly, the differences in survival are based on racial background, sex, and histological type, which means the kind of cancer that affects an individual.
Anatomy
Esophagus is a thin-walled, hollow tube, measuring at about 25 cm in length. Squamous cell carcinoma for the proximal to mid esophagus and adenocarcinoma for the distal end of the esophagus. The esophagus is roughly from C6 to T11 it is also divided into four regions. These regions are the Cervical, Upper thoracic, Mid thoracic & Lower thoracic. The Lower thoracic is where this patients Cancer is located. The lymphatics in this area are the Lower peri-esophagogastric lymph node below the level of the azygos vein, the diaphragmatic, peri-cardiac, left peri-gastric and celiac nodes.
Epidemiology
Regarding gender, the cancer of the esophageal 2.7 more commonly found in men than women and more lethal. Concerning the issue of age and the incidence of the disease, it peaks most in the 7th decade in patient’s life. With adenocarcinoma white males ranging in the age of 40 to 50 are mostly affected (Zhang, 2013). In fact, 20% of death rates in the United States among men are caused by adenocarcinoma. In 2012, the National Cancer Institute speculated that out of 17,460 persons diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus, 15,070 would die. Based on the fact that the cancer affects men more than women it was estimated that the cancer would affect 13,950 men and 3,510 women that year. However, the United States is not the only country affected by adenocarcinoma. The rates are much higher in China. Chronic alcohol uses, as well as external carcinogens, have been pinpointed as the main causes of adenocarcinoma (Zhang, 2013).
Additionally, there have been instances in which nutrition has been raised as a factor leading to the problem; however, diet does not explain the origin of the cancer well. Specialists claim that if the cancer can be related to diet, then it would be much easier for the disease to be averted by changes in eating patterns. Regarding the issue of race in America, incidences of whites getting the adenocarcinoma is more common than that of blacks (Baquet CR, 2015), due to poor eating habits, diet, status and exposure to alcohol and external carcinogens. Inherently, smokers have an increased risk of getting the esophagus adenoca.
Cancer is a genetically based illness that results from alterations in the genes that regulate how our cells operate. More genetic alterations, such as DNA mutations, are present in cancer cells than in healthy ones. Some of these alterations might not be related to the disease at all they might be its effect rather than its cause. This initiative makes an effort to examine and research esophageal cancer. It can develop when a malignant tumor grows in the lining of the esophagus and has two variants, making it the eighth most common cancer in the world. Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and esophageal adenocarcinoma. Risk factors, symptoms, and indicators are discussed. The risk factors for esophageal cancer include smoking, drinking alcohol, and other behaviors. 575 altered genes that are connected to esophageal cancer, according to the cancer genome atlas. 180 examples of this malignancy were found in the cancer genome atlas. To further understand their relationships, these genes were examined. Additionally, using the k means clustering approach, a network of all the genes connected to this malignancy has been developed in 3 and 5 groups. Richard's aventures in two entangled wonderlandsRichard Gill
Since the loophole-free Bell experiments of 2020 and the Nobel prizes in physics of 2022, critics of Bell's work have retreated to the fortress of super-determinism. Now, super-determinism is a derogatory word - it just means "determinism". Palmer, Hance and Hossenfelder argue that quantum mechanics and determinism are not incompatible, using a sophisticated mathematical construction based on a subtle thinning of allowed states and measurements in quantum mechanics, such that what is left appears to make Bell's argument fail, without altering the empirical predictions of quantum mechanics. I think however that it is a smoke screen, and the slogan "lost in math" comes to my mind. I will discuss some other recent disproofs of Bell's theorem using the language of causality based on causal graphs. Causal thinking is also central to law and justice. I will mention surprising connections to my work on serial killer nurse cases, in particular the Dutch case of Lucia de Berk and the current UK case of Lucy Letby.

Observation of Io’s Resurfacing via Plume Deposition Using Ground-based Adapt...Sérgio Sacani
Since volcanic activity was first discovered on Io from Voyager images in 1979, changes
on Io’s surface have been monitored from both spacecraft and ground-based telescopes.
Here, we present the highest spatial resolution images of Io ever obtained from a groundbased telescope. These images, acquired by the SHARK-VIS instrument on the Large
Binocular Telescope, show evidence of a major resurfacing event on Io’s trailing hemisphere. When compared to the most recent spacecraft images, the SHARK-VIS images
show that a plume deposit from a powerful eruption at Pillan Patera has covered part
of the long-lived Pele plume deposit. Although this type of resurfacing event may be common on Io, few have been detected due to the rarity of spacecraft visits and the previously low spatial resolution available from Earth-based telescopes. The SHARK-VIS instrument ushers in a new era of high resolution imaging of Io’s surface using adaptive
optics at visible wavelengths.

Deep Behavioral Phenotyping in Systems Neuroscience for Functional Atlasing a...Ana Luísa Pinho
Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) provides means to characterize brain activations in response to behavior. However, cognitive neuroscience has been limited to group-level effects referring to the performance of specific tasks. To obtain the functional profile of elementary cognitive mechanisms, the combination of brain responses to many tasks is required. Yet, to date, both structural atlases and parcellation-based activations do not fully account for cognitive function and still present several limitations. Further, they do not adapt overall to individual characteristics. In this talk, I will give an account of deep-behavioral phenotyping strategies, namely data-driven methods in large task-fMRI datasets, to optimize functional brain-data collection and improve inference of effects-of-interest related to mental processes. Key to this approach is the employment of fast multi-functional paradigms rich on features that can be well parametrized and, consequently, facilitate the creation of psycho-physiological constructs to be modelled with imaging data. Particular emphasis will be given to music stimuli when studying high-order cognitive mechanisms, due to their ecological nature and quality to enable complex behavior compounded by discrete entities. I will also discuss how deep-behavioral phenotyping and individualized models applied to neuroimaging data can better account for the subject-specific organization of domain-general cognitive systems in the human brain. Finally, the accumulation of functional brain signatures brings the possibility to clarify relationships among tasks and create a univocal link between brain systems and mental functions through: (1) the development of ontologies proposing an organization of cognitive processes; and (2) brain-network taxonomies describing functional specialization. To this end, tools to improve commensurability in cognitive science are necessary, such as public repositories, ontology-based platforms and automated meta-analysis tools. I will thus discuss some brain-atlasing resources currently under development, and their applicability in cognitive as well as clinical neuroscience.
Multi-source connectivity as the driver of solar wind variability in the heli...Sérgio Sacani
The ambient solar wind that flls the heliosphere originates from multiple
sources in the solar corona and is highly structured. It is often described
as high-speed, relatively homogeneous, plasma streams from coronal
holes and slow-speed, highly variable, streams whose source regions are
under debate. A key goal of ESA/NASA’s Solar Orbiter mission is to identify
solar wind sources and understand what drives the complexity seen in the
heliosphere. By combining magnetic feld modelling and spectroscopic
techniques with high-resolution observations and measurements, we show
that the solar wind variability detected in situ by Solar Orbiter in March
2022 is driven by spatio-temporal changes in the magnetic connectivity to
multiple sources in the solar atmosphere. The magnetic feld footpoints
connected to the spacecraft moved from the boundaries of a coronal hole
to one active region (12961) and then across to another region (12957). This
is refected in the in situ measurements, which show the transition from fast
to highly Alfvénic then to slow solar wind that is disrupted by the arrival of
a coronal mass ejection. Our results describe solar wind variability at 0.5 au
but are applicable to near-Earth observatories.
