10. 1. NOMINATION COMMUNICATIVE
STRATEGY
-introducing a topic at the beginning of a
Communicative Situation
EXAMPLE:
I was late again! I set
my alarm to 5:30 but
I was dead asleep!

11. 2. RESTRICTION COMMUNICATIVE
STRATEGY
-restricts a response of the other person
involved in Communicative Situation
EXAMPLE:
That arrest move was
a disaster waiting to
happen. Do you agree?
(Yes/No)

12. 3. TURN-TAKING COMMUNICATIVE
STRATEGY
-opportunity to take turn in talking
-formal or informal
EXAMPLE:
May I have the floor,
sir?

13. 4. TOPIC-CONTROL COMMUNICATIVE
STRATEGY
-focusing on one topic without straying to
other conversation
EXAMPLE:
Let’s talk about the physical effects of
bullying.
