A compressor is a pump located outside that
pressurizes the refrigerant in the air
conditioning unit.
The evaporator


The evaporator is a component that
blows air in the room. This is the
component that heats the house.
The condenser


The condenser is a component that
lets the heat from the house go away
by the use of metal fins.

Split AC units are ducted units comprising of outdoor unit and indoor
unit. The outdoor unit houses the compressor, condenser and the
expansion valve. The indoor unit comprises the evaporator,
expansion valves and the cooling fan. They are commonly used in
commercial buildings and are capable of cooling entire building with
many rooms. They are designed with aesthetic look to add beauty in
the room and You don’t have to make a hole on the wall to install

3,5,7,10,15 and 20 tons.
They are suitable for large areas where cooling capacities
of 4 to 20 tons are needed.
The components are placed in a single casing that looks
like a box mounted on walls and rooftops with control
panels, compressors and condensers.
Tower Air Conditioners







Also known as floor-standing air
conditioners.

Common Air conditioning
sizing
It depends on the size of your home
and the number of windows it has.
 The number of people in your home.
 It depends on the amount of heat
generated by appliances in your
home.
 The direction or shade of your
windows and walls.
 It depends on how much the air leaks
into your home from the outside.
 The insulation of the ceiling and walls.

Rating
Air conditioners are commonly rated by the
number of British Thermal Units (Btu) of heat
they are able to remove per hour. For instant
a room air conditioner range from 5,500 btu
per hour to 14,000 btu per hour.
 They are also rated by the use of ‘ton’ which
is 12,000 short tons per hour. One
refrigeration ton is equal to 12000 BTUs per
hour(1 ton = 12000 BTU/hr).
 Today’s common air conditioning units have
higher energy rating that old AC units. You
may save more energy cost if you replace
your 10 years old AC unit with a new one.

Common AC unit energy reducing
method
Service your AC unit regularly and
minimize refrigerant leakage.
 Locate it on a wall or window on the
shadiest part of the house or at the
central part of your house.
