• Inform your Heads: Legal, Compliance,
Governance, CFO & others
• Share good news with HR team members
• Read the Guide for HR Professionals
• Order a rubber stamp for you
• Spread the CoO workload (3-5 people)
• Make sure you see original documents
before you certify as true copies
Implications
• Fulfilling your duties in accordance with the
Act
• Ensuring all ethical requirements are met
(true copies)
• If membership not renewed, it will be illegal
to continue as Commissioner of Oaths

HR Contribution to society • Apply the SABPP Code of Conduct • Workload of other Commissioners of Oaths reduced • HR Professionals support government and other agencies to combat fraud & corruption (e.g. ID fraud, forged qualifications) • Preventing fronting and other unethical practices • Change agents for ethics, professionalism and nation- building (NDP) • Commitment to Constitution and practice of justice, human rights and sound governance • HR professionals as custodians of labour and other laws – function as compliance officers • Reduce inconvenience to take documents to other offices
  • 15. DUTY OF COMMISSIONERS OF OATHS Certify that a document (e.g. copy of ID or qualification certificate) is a true copy of the original.
  • 16. Guidelines • Inform your Heads: Legal, Compliance, Governance, CFO & others • Share good news with HR team members • Read the Guide for HR Professionals • Order a rubber stamp for you • Spread the CoO workload (3-5 people) • Make sure you see original documents before you certify as true copies
  • 17. Implications • Fulfilling your duties in accordance with the Act • Ensuring all ethical requirements are met (true copies) • If membership not renewed, it will be illegal to continue as Commissioner of Oaths
