The first quarter of 2023 saw continued growth in French exports and imports, driven by sales of aeronautical and electronic equipment as well as intermediate goods. Exports increased by 8.1% after 8.5% in the previous quarter, while imports grew by 8.3% following a more moderate rise of 7.5%. The trade deficit widened slightly to €65.9 billion after €65.8 billion previously. On an annual basis, the deficit is stable at around €84 billion.
