Brochure
A tri-fold brochure for the California National Park. The
brochure was designed as a marketing brochure to
attract visitors to the parks.

I started by researching the national parks in California.
I viewed their pictures and read a little history on some
of the parks. I then researched brochures and pamphlets
related to parks of all kinds. I sketched a few art concepts
for the brochure. I then digitalized my sketches in
InDesign, utilizing Photoshop to manage the placed
images and graphics.

Infographic
This Infographic is designed to inform readers of the
realities of homelessness. My hope is that the reader
gains interest in helping the homeless.

After compiling research about homelessness and the
homeless population, I began making symbols that could
represent the data. I adjusted the background picture
to better suit my purposes. Then I began placing and
adjusting the data to best fit and utilize the space.

Magazine Cover
This mock magazine cover, displays some personal
information about myself, focusing on my love for
cooking and my degree in culinary arts.

The assignment required that th magazine cover be
about me, so my first step to get a dynamic photo
taken. With my photos taken I conceptualized the text
placement, color scheme and fonts. I chose to model
my cover after Bon Appetit magazine, and thus mimicked
their style. I chose to use a text color similar to my flesh
color to add a bit of continuity to the design.

This full bleed montage of two images and a text quote,
is intended to offer encouragement to the reader.

Photoshop
I started by going on LDS.org to get inspiration and find
a quote. Finding the quote I found images that fit. I then
did a little light touch up on the image of the climber. I
masked the background out of the rope image and then
blended into the climber picture. I added a litter darker
red blended behind the text to make it more legible.

This is a full bleed montage of two images. The image of
the soap bar and the young man floating in a bath.

I first picked the quote I wanted to use for the project.
I then searched for images that would fit the quote. I
masked the soap bar background and added the text. I
then masked the boy out leaving just the bubble, then
pasted it in place. I then blended the text in between the
two layers it would look like the test was in the bath.

To make the initial logo I, looked up images of fish. I then
made a basic tracing of the fish. I paired the fish with a
font and chose to add a horizontal line to add contrast
and flow. To transfer the Logo to letterhead and a
business card I chose elements of the design that I could
repeat for continuity. I used bold line to resemble the line
in the logo.

Coding
A web site designed and coded by me, showing off the
logo I made in a previous project and explaining some of
what went into the project.

It was coded in CSS and HTML
I used a program called TextWrangler to help me to
organize and check my coding. I coded the HTML first,
using a shell that was provided by my instructor. I then
utilized a independent CSS sheet and coded the styling.

I started by choosing the location and subject of the
photograph I wanted to take. I then make some sketches
of how I wanted the composition of the photo. I then
took the photo. I then cropped the best photo, adjusted
the color balance, and brightened the sky. I then drew
the Yin Yang symbol, utilizing colors from the image. I
then added the text also using a color from the picture.

Prezi presentation introducing the viewer to fishing.

I had not used Prezi before this project. The first thing I
did was research fishing and determine what information
I wanted to convey. I then sketched a storyboard of
how I wanted the presentation to look. I then wrote the
copy. After that I put the presentation together as I had
designed it.

I decided to utilize the previous mock business that I
designed in a previous project as a basis for this project. I
sketched some ideas on how I wanted the page to look.
I then gathered all the images and wrote the copy. I then
organized the mockup as I had planned it. I then group
the layers in Photoshop in a organized fashion.
