Complementary colors are directly opposite each other on the color wheel, such as red and green or blue and orange. When mixed together, complements form neutral colors like brown or gray. Analogous colors are next to each other on the color wheel and share a common color, like blue, blue-green and green. Monochromatic refers to using a single color in different tints and shades. The document provides assignments to create a color wheel labeling complements and analogues, and a monochromatic painting.
