This document provides an overview of current IPv4, IPv6, and ASN delegation policies and practices in each RIR region. It includes statistics on the amount of IPv4 and IPv6 address space issued by each RIR over time as well as their available address pools. It also summarizes each RIR's current IPv4 and IPv6 allocation policies and the percentage of members assigned IPv6 addresses. Additionally, it shows ASN assignments over time and notes that RIRs now assign 4-byte ASNs by default after IANA's 2-byte pool was exhausted in 2016.

5. Current IPv4 delegation policy and practice
in each RIR
• APNIC: Maximum of a /22 from final /8 (103/8). Requests
for an additional /22 from the recovered pool will be put on
a waiting list
• RIPE NCC: Only one /22 from the final /8 pool for each LIR
Member
• ARIN has exhausted their general IPv4 free pool. IPv4
requests will be put on a waiting list for recovered space
• LACNIC: Maximum of a /22 for new Members only
• AFRINIC: Reached their final /8 in April 2017. Minimum of a
/24 and maximum of a /13

• It is very easy to request IPv6 addresses
• Minimum allocation size is /32
• Minimum assignment size is /48
• Large allocations can be made according to the policy

10. ASN delegation policy and practice
• RIRs started to delegate 4-byte ASNs in 2007
• IANA’s 2-byte ASN pool was exhausted on 29 July 2016
• All RIRs assign 4-byte ASNs by default now
• APNIC no longer allocates 2-byte ASN pools to the NIRs
