My Key Considerations Prepared and presented by Kirstin Anderson - McGhie for Northern Bays Cluster Conference January 31 - February 1 2008 Why are you using the technology? Does it enhance learning? Does it move your students forward in their learning journey? Could you do this without the technology? Even new technology can be used in old ways. Bells, whistles and aesthetically pleasing does not mean the content is outstanding or accurate. Unless your purpose was to learn to use a tool or visual presentation skills it doesn’t guarantee that your learning intention has been met. Decide whether your emphasis is on the process or the product. Equip your learners with the skills to make best use of the tools. “ It’s not about the tech, it’s all about the teach” - Ewan McIntosh October 2007
