Climate zones are determined by temperature and rainfall. Using data on temperature and rainfall, climographs can be created to show these climate characteristics. Two example climographs are provided and the document asks how they differ and what climate zone they could represent. The Köppen Climate Classification System is then introduced as the most widely used system for classifying the world's climates based on patterns of vegetation and soils that generally coincide with climatic regions defined by temperature and rainfall.
