22. CASE STUDY – SETTING UP OF ADITYA BIRLA GROUP FACILITIES
RAJMAHAL COALFIELDS OFFICE, GUEST HOUSES AND RESIDENCES
“Atithi Devo Bhava” – This was a saying that our management believed in and when they were asked to show
their strength, they didn’t disappoint. Having been working with Aditya Birla Group for a long time it was very
heartening to see that we were asked to deploy our personnel at their facility in Godda, Jharkhand. We were asked
to manage and monitor 3 guest houses, 3 kitchens, 1 Office and 4 different locations of residencies. Since this was a
remote location deployment we understood the need to survey and carefully map out the timeline. Due to the
backwardness of the location logistics and proper skilled labour was going to be a problem to find. We knew we had
to get manpower from our older sites and also train the existing manpower. There was need for constant hand holding
support and rigorous mentoring. We faced resistance in the form of local resistance but we finished what we got started.
We deployed 25 personnel in their facility in different roles and are now managing both the soft and hard services for
their facilities. We take care of their catering, Laundry, health and hygiene services, pantry, cafeteria, Events and
Horticulture. We are also in advanced talks regarding taking over their security management systems which comprises
of project affected personnel (PAP) and other personnel.
Our relationship with AB Group has grown from strength to strength.
23. CASE STUDY – BISWA BANGLA BRAND FORMATION
AND ONGOING INAUGURATION OF DIFFERENT STORES
The latest challenge presented to us by the Government Of West Bengal was seeing that their
different formats under the brand Biswa Bangla have able personnel to run them. We had taken
up a similar project for OPTM Healthcare but this was bigger and had more critical points. Plus,
this was the pet project of our Honorable Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee. We had been
told to provide all manpower from security guards to the store and warehouse managers. We
had 15 days to provide close to 30 personnel and give them at least 5 days of training and
employ them in time for the CM inauguration.
We got 4 of our best minds to work on recruitment methods, interviews, selections, training,
uniform design and production and finally store setup. With support from the MSME Dept. and
WBSEPS we completed all this with 2 days to spare and were lauded for our efforts. We now
have close to 90 personnel deployed at various formats under the Biswa Bangla Brand. There
are now very advanced level talks going on about opening Biswa Bangla in China and
Singapore.
