is no longer required once you’ve
exited the corresponding software
program or app.
There are several kinds of Temporary
Files, one of the more important type
of them being known as Log files. Log
files are sometimes also known as foo
files. Unless you’re experiencing the
Blue Screen of Death, random system
reboots, Windows crashes or any other
runtime errors, you do not need log
files and can proceed to delete them
without any worries to help rid your
computer of excessive junk.

Deleting temporary files
1. Type %temp in the Run dialog box
(Windows Key + R). You may
alternatively open
C:Users%username%AppDataLocal
Temp using File Explorer.
2. Select all, delete subfolders and
files in the Temp folder.
Deleting Log Files
In the Run dialog, type Logs and
click OK. You may alternatively
open C:WindowsLogs directory and
delete the entire contents to
retrieve maximum hard disk
capacity.
Deleting Web Junk
Web junk includes Temporary
Internet Files, cache of several
web browsers installed on your
system, browser form fill-up data,
and so on.
Microsoft Edge
1. Click the Hub icon.
2. Click History tab in the panel
that appears on right corner of
your browser window.
3. Click the Clear all history link.
4. Click Downloads icon in the same
panel.
5. Finally, click the Clear all
link.
Internet Explorer
1. Open Run and type inetcpl.cpl.
2. Under the General tab, click the
Delete button.
3. Check all the boxes except the last
one labelled as Tracking
protection, ActiveX filtering and
do not track.
4. Click Delete.
Google Chrome
1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete keys
simultaneously.
2. Select the beginning of time.
option from the drop down menu
3. Next, check all boxes.
4. Click the Clear browsing data
button.
Mozilla Firefox
1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete keys simultaneously.
2. Choose a time range to clear the trash from, and
then click the Clear Now button.
Opera
1. Click the Opera icon on the upper left-hand side
of the screen.
2. Choose the History option from the drop down
box.
3. Choose to delete it from the beginning of time,
and finally click on Clear browsing data.
Safari
1. Click Safari Menu.
2. Click Clear history and website
data.
3. Choose the time range from the
Clear drop down box.
4. Next, click the Clear history
button.
Searching & Deleting Logs
Log files located in other folders
can be easily traced through Windows
Search. To do so, open Windows
Explorer and enter the below
mentioned keywords one by one in the
Search Box located on upper right-
hand corner. Once the results are
displayed, delete them permanently by
pressing Shift + Delete.
