This document summarizes the evolution of classroom technology at the University of California, Riverside over an eight year period. It describes moving from an outdated, inefficient model of centrally distributing equipment to a self-service model where classrooms are standardized with permanent technology installations. A multi-year plan was implemented to outfit classrooms with projectors, computers, and other equipment to enable easy presentation of digital materials without technical support. Surveys found faculty were very satisfied with the new model and its support of instruction.
