This document outlines the curriculum and expectations for a World Literature and Composition class. The class will focus on improving writing skills like paragraph structure, essay format, thesis statements and research papers using MLA format. Students will also read and analyze various short stories, poems, plays and novels, and present individually and in groups. Grammar, vocabulary, and usage will be addressed when editing writings. Grades will be calculated based on points earned divided by total points possible, and students are responsible for keeping up with classwork. Communication with students and parents will occur through the class website, email, text messaging, and the HomeLogic grade portal.

vocabulary will be studied.
Grammar and usage issues will
be addressed when editing
writing.

7. Making The Grade
Grading in this class is very
simple: the number of points
gained divided by the number of
points possible. Students are
responsible for asking for help
