RMS- In France, 1.9 billion bills are exchanged annually between companies, but only 80 million (4.2%) are digitized using the internet or electronic data interchange (EDI). 43 million are digitized in structured EDI format. - Processing paper bills manually costs an average of €8 for the transmitter and €15 for the recipient. Electronic bills cost around 50% less than paper bills. - The French government estimates that €5-7 billion per year will be saved from 2007 onwards by government agencies sending remote statements like taxes electronically.

We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
