Genre and ideas presentation : 
Chosen genre The genre that I have chosen for my teaser trailer is a romantic drama. I have chosen this because the locations and props I have at my disposal would suit this genre. This particular genre can create emotion and engage the audience effectively, therefore has the potential to be more successful.
Movie trailers/teaser trailers I took ideas from... The Time Travellers Wife - http:// www.youtube.com/watch?v = USUDlMBR-dQ – Man and woman fall in love, however the man time travels back and forth between major factors in his life. This includes the woman, they marry (have child) then it gets hard as he keeps disappearing and it works out in the end.
Movie trailers/teaser trailers I took ideas from... One Day - http:// www.youtube.com/watch?v =GU4qLmIXbOE – Man and Woman meet at university and try a relationship, doesn't work out. Become friends and meet up once a year on the anniversary of their friendship. Eventually fall in love slowly after realising their true feelings.
Codes and conventions of my genre The main characters, obviously a man and a woman, need to be easily relatable so that the audience can engage themselves within the movie. The storyline, the two characters need to be very much in love and there is always some hitch that either separates them or keeps them apart from each other. Forcing to show their love for each other. Throughout the film there needs to be a very strong underlying theme of true love. The lighting will be adapted to what atmosphere is currently in the scene, in happy loving moments (often in a romantic movie) for example the lighting will be bright and for a unexpected event/sad moment in the film the lighting will be shades darker. Soundtrack – romantic films often use songs to portray the mood of the scene, or a slow happy soundtrack to show the love between the two main characters. Time of year – most romantic films are set in the summer/spring when it’s a happy scene and can often move into a winter/autumn setting for the sad scenes.
My storyline... Boy and girl fall in love, during/toward the end of university. Their career path takes them separate ways, as they try and hold onto their true love for each other. The movie will follows both of their lives, how their paths cross and their struggle.
