CR&R operates an anaerobic digestion facility in Perris, CA that converts 335,000 tons per year of food and yard waste into renewable natural gas (RNG) and fertilizer. The RNG fuels CR&R's fleet of 900 trash trucks. The fully enclosed digestion process runs continuously and produces 4 million gallons per year of RNG, keeping organic waste out of landfills and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Financial incentives help support the project which is expanding to increase capacity and fuel the entire fleet with carbon negative RNG.
