The study investigates the energy requirements for wheat production in the Kamore Plateau and Satpura Hill regions of Madhya Pradesh, India, showing a total consumption of 14,345 MJ/ha. Major sources of energy include chemical fertilizers (31.1%), diesel fuel (20.5%), and electricity (24.2%), with a significant contribution from commercial energy sources. It concludes there is potential to enhance wheat productivity by improving energy efficiency and increasing input energy through fertilizers and machinery.
